I have several of these cameras inside and outside the house. They work great for picking up nearby larger-body movement. A person in the house, a racoon on my deck, but they don't always trigger for birds and the like even if they're just 6' in front of the camera.

Not sure if the 3mp is better than the 2k but my 2k version has poor night vision. The 3 other tapo cameras I have do much better. You can barely make out anything unless it's a couple feet away.

Perhaps you can shed some info on the cameras that do better?

For ptz, the c520ws 2k qhd is great. The regular 2k which is the c510 is ok but missing some features and isn't as good for night vision but it's still good. Non ptz, the c120 2k qhd is good and comes with the pet detection too. It's night vision is better than the 210 but not as good as the 520. Those are the ones I have and tried anyway. The 120 is the first tapo camera I bought and have eufy along with arlo also. Arlo cost, longevity and reliability aren't good. Eufy is good but their prices keep going up and the detection can be hit or miss depending. But it is better than the arlo. The arlo lasted a little over a year before detection dropped. Now 1 of the cameras barely picks up anything and it's sitting a couple feet away from the tapo yet it detects around 5-10% of the time.

I have 7 of the C210 cameras set up both indoors and out. They're sold as indoor cameras but I have them sheltered from rain and some of them have been out there for at least 2 years.
The night vision seems fine to me. If I can figure out how to post a picture, I will.

Maybe it's only indoors, these are defective or my lighting is weird. I could only see clearly a few feet in front, the rest of the room was grainy or heavy shadows. Same room with the 120 or 520 and it was clear. Actually before I completely condemn them I will hook them back up and change some settings around. Think it is still at 15fps. For 33 buck for the 2 pack they are sticking around anyway for something lol.
