There are more and more cars being made with laminated safety glass in the side windows. These tools will not work on laminated glass (as noted in the ad), so make sure to test it out (on someone else's car?) before you rely on it. Or just check if your car is on this list from AAA.

Good tools but I recommend the spring loaded glass breakers
People who panic in these tough situations need the extra help and
easy of use from the push button spring loaded style.

Too much reading. Going to check on my neighbor who hasn't returned my shovel.

That's why they invented the Find feature in browsers. Ctrl+f on windows. Cmd+f on a Mac. On an iPhone it's in the actions menu as "Find on Page". Your neighbor isn't giving back the shovel.

I have often wondered why they put the metal tips on the side. Wouldn't it make more sense to put it on the end, like an ice pick or screwdriver?

Lastly, in an incident, will this tool stay in the holder?

wow, reps for the info. I heard car mfgs are moving to laminated on the sides for noise control. So the alternative would be... climb to the back and try to break those?
