Is this a good deal for a linux laptop? Research suggests only one RAM stick is soldered and the other is replaceable. SSD also seems to be upgradeable.

Ryzen systems can have thunderbolt too. It's not as common, but it's not exclusive to Intel.

Totally.

I'm in for one. I might regret it vs the Intel model I saw listed but there's a high chance I'll run FreeBSD on this and driver support / cost are my priorities for this system. This is a secondary machine, just needed a good enough laptop that isn't stuck in the Apple garden.

If anyone happens to get an actual model number, or more detailed specs on this unit, before the deal expires, please respond back. Interested to know which battery is in this, specifically which display, if keyboard is backlit, etc. Thinkpads have a lot of options and they could make or break a decision on this deal. I noticed newegg doesn't provide much in the listing, unlike some others they have. Thanks.
