Cheap equipment can be used as a trial - easy to move and get rid of if you don't end up using it.

Otherwise you can end up spending $1,000s on professional grade stuff just to have it listed on marketplace, struggling to give it away for free.

Maximum user weight of 250lb and max weight total weight of 850lb.
Wondering why it's separated like that?
Assuming the bench should support 850lb total since you're likely doing bench press as heaviest load on it, but what if the person weights 300lb and benched 400lb. Would it fail somewhere?

I remember reading in a thread for the silver one that the welds would deteriorate and fail

Be careful with these. I have that silver one and stopped using it after I read it

Decent set for a beginner, but too flimsy for anyone else.

As long as I use something long enough to compare to the cost of a gym membership, I'm ok to put it on the roadside after (like this would need to last 2-3 months as I went to anytime for around 4 years). And that's actual use time. So many ppl get a membership, don't go, and pay too much for too long because of the predatory cancellation process.
But that disposal doesn't happen often for me anyway. Still using a $45 bench along with a $150 4 post rack. Plus dozens of other pieces accumulated - trap bar, kettlebells, adjustable and fixed dumbbells, etc.

should be safe to say anyone getting a combined body weight and equipment weight over $700 would never touch this stuff. unless IQ is inversely proportional to mass.

The back support is only welded to the support tubing. Read the review about the weld snapping and the bench falling down when warming up with some weights. The connection of the back support at the seat end should be a more secure mechanical bracket instead of mere welding. Unfortunately, most cheaper benches don't show you this critical connection in photos.

Wanting a bench set like this to add to my cable machine/functional trainer (centr 2) to be able to leg extensions and leg curls with this conversion set:

https://shop.centr.com/products/f...ersion-kit

Does anyone have any better ideas on better affordable options instead? I currently have a basic bench and I don't have extra space to add a standalone machine.
