See if B&H will do a price match if you have their Payboo card and avoid the sales tax.

This is the lowest this has been.
Good deal if you need 11 channels, all in one unit.

FYI this might drop as we get closer to next year when their new units come out.
The new units are said to add access to Dirac's new RC ART.

Looks dead, but for future reference, did this receive an update making Dirac art available? That would be by deciding factor in purchasing.

I think that is just wishful thinking, very unlikely to get an update for ART support.

You will have to wait for the new models coming out at the end of the year for that.

FYI this is still up, use the coupon code JHCE9834 during checkout.

I bought a week ago from amazon for $1750, now I need to return that buy this for $1600.Is there any room for this to still go lower $$ ?

Also Denon 6800 and Yamaha A8A are still above $2000-$2300 range, should I buy Onkyo rz70 or wait for Denon or Yamaha ?

May drop closer to new models coming out but I wouldn't expect hundreds more imo.

Depends on features you need imo.
If you have no brand preference, here is my take.

The 6800 only makes sense if you need 13 channel processing.
The 6800 cost more because it offers quite a bit more.

If Dirac is a high priority, Yamaha is out.

This makes sense if you need 11 channels, all in one unit.

The RZ 30 is on sale for $750 at Adorama as well. Has anyone tried a price match elsewhere? Not an Adorama fan.

I've done some research on the Z70 versus the Z50. I ended up with the Z50 since I'm running a 7.1.2 setup and didn't need the extra channels. If you have 4ohm speakers, the power delivery on the Z70 is more robust, and that might be good even if you have nominal 6-8ohm speakers due to fluctuations at the lower end of the frequency spectrum (i.e. you're using really big front L and R speakers). The Z70 is better for stereo listening due to better DAC on the front channels as well. The 140w versus 120w isn't much to write home about for general surround sound, as you'd probably get hearing loss maxing the Z50 out at 120w. I got the Z50 for about $900 (and it regularly goes on sale for this price), which didn't make me sad either.

I would add to this based on personal experience with all 3 units.
2 channel music, edge does go to RZ70.
For anything else there really is no real audible advantage.

Power difference, as you mentioned isn't anything to write home about.
If it was, easy fix with preouts.

If you don't need more than 9 channels, at $750 the RZ30 is easily the best buy ime.

I have personally owned the Onkyo RZ50 as well as the Pioneer LX805 and Integra 8.4( both of which have the same amp/power supply section of the Onkyo RZ70)

The power difference between those latter units, I mentioned, and the RZ50 is a world of difference apart
4 ohm loads played at reference levels are not an issue for the them
Additionally, according to Audioholics reviews, the RZ70 is the best AVR under $3500
So this is a smoking deal , IMO, if you want a 1 box solution and you prefer Dirac, which I highly prefer

The RZ50 is no slouch though, especially in a small.mid size room with efficient speakers and lower listening levels. In fact I had it and the Denon X4800 in my home at the same time and I could not see the value $$ in the Denon for the difference and extra $$ it would take me to buy Dirac

Owners seem to really like the RZ70 and I would suggest reading tip/tricks from actual owners who have had this unit since it was released
