What are you using to store it in the meantime?
Edit: My kid left crackers in her backpack pocket and made a mess so I used the vacuum attachment for the first time and it worked perfectly! Guess it will come in handy after all!

After I read your comment I used my phones stopwatch and mine turns off at approximately 30 seconds of idle time. Repeated several times with the same result.
After I drain it tomorrow (give me something to do during the massive snow storm we're supposed to have) I'll open it up and test the resting voltage and also do a capacity test. I'll respond back to let you know what I got.

Once it shut off on its own and flashed lowest battery light, it did not turn on again, like some devices will do once or twice again after first shutting off.
