One downside this controller has is: When using the dongle, and therefore the dock, you can only use Xinput, so you can't get fancy with the button mappings. You can only set macro keys to standard Xbox buttons. The ultimate controller lets you use Dinput with it's dongle. So you can go into Steam and map mouse clicks, keyboard commands, whatever you want.
This will not wake Switch 2 from sleep though.I was wrong about this. If you sync the controller via Bluetooth, you can "shake to wake" the Switch 2.However, you can still use the dock to charge the controller. You just have to sync the controller with Dinput manually via Bluetooth.

I have both and I honestly prefer the Ultimate 2 over the Pro 3, but ever so slightly. The Pro 3 is perfect for d-pad focused games (platformers, fighting games).
Correct, the dongle only supports Xinput and Switch direct connect. Dinput is only through Bluetooth.
However, you can still use the dock to charge the controller. You just have to sync the controller with Dinput manually via Bluetooth.
Turns out, you need to sync the controller separately via Bluetooth (without the dongle). I just tried it out using 8bitdo's instructions [youtube.com] and Shake to Wake indeed works!
