This is a fantastic deal for the larger 16 gal vac. These used to be everywhere on prior years (before 2025) black Friday sales for $45. Not a single one last black Friday in 2025, thanks Trump tarriffs. Great buy at this price

I have an older version (maybe 15 + years old) of this shop vac with the 16 gallon stainless canister, also 5.5hp (I think...), and it looks like they addressed all of the flaws that I've experienced with the older versions. The lid being loose plus the weak clasps, no attachment storage and the non standard hose size (I think it's 1 3/8 or something...) I'm going to take a shot on this for the price. 5.5 hp in a 16 gallon is typically 3 times this price. Project farm ranked the Craftsman the overall winner in this series several years ago, but the Shop Vac did pretty well on the metrics that matter (air speed & suction). The question regarding noise, it was measured at 83.5 decibels. I was holding out for a deal on the Dwlewalt, but at this price, I have to bite.
