actually, the 3' are perfect for desktop charging station USB outlets. I have a tower that sits on my desk and they are the perfect size. I don't want a 6 or 10 foot cable cluttering up my desk.

perhaps, different strokes for different folks. if you need 240W capability, one should buy a 240w cable. if you're content w 60W and just want to get a bunch of cable to have for car, home, office us, this is ideal.
