That said, USB Wi-Fi 6 dongles are a perfectly reasonable solution for desktops without Wi-Fi, with failed or outdated adapters, or where Ethernet isn't practical like a room) office with no Ethernet cable

However, I'm not sure this is the way to go without further research. According to the OP, this is Wi-Fi 6 and not 6E. 2.4 and 5 GHz bands are mentioned, but not 6 GHz.
And since I don't need one, I'm not very motivated to go digging to see which chipset this uses.
This might be a great deal for someone or it might turn out to be a nightmare. If you are considering buying this then do yourself a favor and do your due diligence.

Most of the PCIe cards are basically just a case around an Intel laptop WiFi card, so I'd recommend getting one of the lesser known brands with WiFi 6e over this like Cudy. Of course, if you don't have an open slot or can't open your desktop for whatever reason this will work fine, just not as well.

If you need WiFi over USB then the best route is a WiFi5 dongle (or even just 2.4GHz one) as they are cheap and you're still limited by the USB port (plus lack of multi-antenna setup and lack of an external antenna will produce a mediocre coverage and speeds at best).
This, AX1800, is not exactly the fastest WiFi6 (barely a thing I'd argue). I'd consider it a overpriced WiFi5 one, that has no external antennas - thus questionable coverage and speeds, especially if you are just a tiny bit far away from the router/AP. However, if you are close to the router - why not run a cable? (and cable will be guaranteed to be more reliable and faster)
Then, if you truly want a WiFi6 thing on a desktop, the correct route is a PCI-e card (which is not limited by the USB port), and a ideally a module that supports 6GHz and multiple + external antennas (to take advantage of MU-MIMO).
If it's a laptop then you already have a built-in WiFi module and antennas. If it happens to be an older WiFi-5 module and your laptop does not support upgrading to a WiFi-6 module (due to not supporting PCI-e on the connector if it's very old laptop) then you need a newer laptop anyways.
