I see this suggestion/implication all the time on SD, but I never see anyone linking to peer-reviewed evidence that actually describes how skin contact with polyester is bad for you. I've also been unable to find it while doing a cursory Google search.

I play club sports and do road biking, so I've worn a lot of polyester-based fabrics (underwear, jerseys, biking shorts, etc.) for over a decade, and I haven't noticed any negative effects on my junk or anywhere else other than some minor armpit irritation from the first generation of UnderArmour tech fabric.

Everyone is obviously free to have their personal preferences, but framing this as a health issue without proving details isn't super helpful.

Polyester drama from other comments aside, I've been disappointed in the longevity of Under Armour undies like these as they have an extra thin layer (I assume for air flow) at the top of the inner thigh area and it wears out quickly and develops holes way more easily than it should. Had it happen with all 6-8 pairs of this type from UA that I've ever had, which is unfortunate, because they are very comfortable.
