Depends on what type of hole you're trying to lubricate and the type of operating motion.

The astroglide lubrication fluid in question is designed to facilitate low to medium friction oscillation at ambient body temperature while this silicone lubricant is designed to achieve lubrication at a much higher temperature without thermal breakdown.

The operating motion is also important to keep in mind due to shear forces, are we dealing with high speed rotation or low speed reciprocation?

Because one is designed for heavy loads (silicone lubricant) while the other (astro) is designed to deliver loads.

This is not a deal. It's the regular price. I've used this stuff for years. Walmart has the same price.

is this any good on garage doors?
Not the best, as it will collect dust and dirt. There are other sprays, like the 3M one linked from another user, that are specifically designed for garage doors as they are thinner film and will not get "gunky".

Heavy duty wd-40 is what this is. That's what I use this for. It's useless as a lubricant

Don't forget about taste. Silicone has a very strong chemical smell and flavor where Astro comes in various scents but always ends up tasting like pennies.

This should NOT be used on plastics.
do you have a recommendation for one that won't damage plastics? I want to spray the window glass tracks on my car and handles.
