Depends on the tint color for the lenses. Clear is 35%, amber 65%, amber max 98% of blue light at 450nm blocked, etc.

I was gifted one of these years ago and thought I'd try them out. Got curious and it seems like there isn't much evidence that these are helpful to protect eyes. FYI specifically talking about blue light; at least during waking hours.

Before flat screens and the first wave of flat monitors, when these were first made, they could help. I noticed my eyes weren't as tired, but as screens have gotten more modern, I don't notice anything anymore, and stopped using them about 7 years ago.

i dunno. anecdotal for sure, but my eyes still feel less tired and when i'm on camera for work i look less tired because it hides the bags under my eyes. Smilie

Every blue block lens I have tried, even with prescription, puts a film on the lens that can't be cleaned off. My minor cataracts are bad enough, I don't need my glasses to do the same type of thing. IMO

When i was wearing 30day contacts, they would always bug me. Once i started using these types of glasses i noticed it prevents dry eye that was irratating my contacts so they started lasting 90d instead of 2w. But I doubt I'd notice if i was looking at a monitor less than 2-4 hours a day.

Amber ones helped me stop some optical migraines, clear should not be an option. Just my experience but I've been wearing for a year or so with heavy screen use all day and after your body gets used to them, you can feel it when staring at blue light screens without them.

Also I live in Atlanta and it says that don't ship here.

Just bs from chaina ! Blue-light protection glasses aren't a magic solution, and the clinical evidence for preventing long-term eye damage is weak. But for many people, they can improve comfort and reduce sleep disruption when used appropriately.
