I cannot stress how amazing of a deal this is; ESP with that e-rebate promo! I got that mower kit for $500 and happy to not deal with forgetting to bring the gas can to fill up. Cut quality and bagging is fine - not worth the retail price of $1000-1200. I use 3.5 batteries for a 0.5 acre lot, could use less if I was cutting as often as I need to. If you're fortunate enough to have the string trimmer kit in your area for $150 or $200, that must be an instant buy as well.

Yes, the string trimmer is on clearance as well but still at $199 at my HD. You can ask the manager to reduce the price on the trimmer which I did and he reduced to $150 for me.
Trimmer also has free erebate for a battery and hedge trimmer as well.
I have 3 mowers now. Nuts but I figured the mower is free because of the batteries.

EDIT: I found the serial number - it's on one of the battery attachment points. Not sure how I missed it when looking specifically around that location!

I went to submit my rebate for the battery and hedge trimmer but I cannot seem to find the serial number on the mower! The box had a sticker that said "Serial Number" on it so I submitted that, but Makita rejected it.

So now I'm trying to find the serial number on the unit itself. Some places online seem to indicate Makita sometimes has it where the battery connects, or else its on the plate one the side of the battery/engine housing. I don't see anything like a serial number in either of those places.

Can anyone that submitted their rebates successfully help me out?
