The QM7K stands out as a huge 98 inch Mini LED TV that delivers OLED like contrast with far more HDR brightness and punch, especially in bright rooms. The built in Google TV is described as solid, and the sheer size creates a big wow factor that makes movies and sports feel larger than life. The main caveat is logistics, since getting a set this large into a home can be difficult and delivery or installation may add hassle. It is a strong fit when screen size and brightness matter more than perfect black levels in a dark room.

Common Questions (5)

  • For several buyers, the 98-inch size is the main reason to choose it, with the bigger screen delivering more wow factor than the small contrast advantage of OLED. It has been preferred over 77-inch OLEDs and even compared favorably with an 83-inch LG G4 and an 85-inch Sony Bravia 9 on value and impact.

  • It can get very close in perceived contrast thanks to its many dimming zones, while still delivering much higher HDR brightness. It also avoids OLED burn-in risk, but OLED still has the edge for perfect blacks and dark-room viewing.

  • The built-in Google TV is reported to be very good and may be good enough to delay buying a separate streaming device. One caveat is that TCL Google TVs have been reported to freeze or reboot, including getting stuck on the Android TV bootloader.

  • Yes, the online deal includes home delivery, and the wall-mount service is part of the offer. In-store pricing can be lower, but then you have to transport a very large TV yourself, which can be difficult for oversized sets.

  • The QM7K is much brighter and is better suited to HDR and bright rooms. One comparison cites roughly 900 nits peak brightness for the QM6K versus about 3000 nits for the QM7K, which gives it far more punch in daylight and on specular highlights.

I went from a 77" OLED to the QM8K 98". I have 0 regrets. Bigger size >>>> slightly better contrast. Heck, most people assume this is an OLED as well since the display is that good.
Indeed. I returned the flagship 83 inch LG G4 OLED for the 98 QM8K, and no regrets.

Holds its own in black levels and contrast/blooming, while destroying the G4 in HDR brightness, specular highlights, and overall "WOW" factor that only 98 inches can provide. No reason to pay the OLED premium any longer.

This or the QM6K Pro from Costco @ $1699....decisions, decisions.
Got this in the early October deal for $1799 using the Amazon Chase card where they give 10% back (cash back came fast & used it as a statement credit)

This is the best TV I've owned and well worth the hassle to get it in my basement (had to remove upper side of a split staircase).

The picture is great & with the enormous number of dimming zones it is as close to OLED that you can get.

Don't know about the Hisense but in my research this TV blew away all others at this price point.

My advice, get a chase card and pounce before the deal is gone (I missed the first deal in the summer by an hour & had to wait till October)

The QM6K Pro was $1499 at my Costco on Monday, and will probably be on sale again before the Superbowl. Tough decision!
The 7k for $1,799 w/Amazon Chase card is a no brainer. Look at specs, research reviews. The 6k is NO WHERE near the picture quality of the 7k. With the dimming zones it's almost OLED quality.

What about if you live in building with small elevator in city? Would be that issue to delivery to get it up on 6 floor? I'm wondering if anyone place order and had issue with delivering that thing upstairs
I had to have this TV in my basement home theater. I have a split staircase and this a quarter inch too big.

Solution: pull up the carpet & stairs & lower the TV to the basement through the removed stairwell.

Happy camper now!

Your comparison makes zero sense. Quality is fine as long as you go in understanding this isn't a tv you're buying because it has the best specs. You're buying it because it has good specs, and is massive.

Great tv. I have it and Fitbit from Best Buy. Just be aware, on large tvs Best Buy's geek squad doesn't usually do the install; it's 3rd party folks, just like Lowe's or Home Depot. Terrible service and took over a month to get delivered. Finally begged store to let actual geek squad deliver and set it up. The geek squad do fine but 3rd party sucks ass.

Tv is fantastic. We have it in the basement and on foundation it was just too bright it hurt my eyes, fantastic tv do the money

It'll interesting when the 120in TV comes out in few years. This is when a walk out basement proves it worth.

What's the difference between this and the QM6K version? It's 98" too and $300 less at Walmart. TIA
Might want to ask ChatGPT (or similar) why the 7K is so much better than the 6K.
