IMO great machines for the price. We bought two of them last month for $380/ea new from BB. They are typically ran at 30-50% brightness, without direct glare from any windows, so they are fine for what they are. Only 3-4 hours of battery life when running DOSBOX-X or ScummVM for Windows 9x emulation and games, and I do hate the common half-size up/down arrow keys, but they've done us well otherwise for running older "vintage" games from the '90s and early 2000s.

About 9 hours of battery life when running our current 3d accelerated game from 2000, which is able to run directly under Win11 without emulation/VMs.Well, at least in Windowed-mode (with 200% scaling)...full screen throws drawing errors due to the IGP not supporting the game's native full-screen resolution.

Works for us - cheap dedicated "retro" gaming machines. At least until something better comes along, for a good price, with a battery closer to 70-80Wh. 2023 Asus G14 machines are no cheaper used today than they were on sale new...

3.77 lbs. That's kinda heavy for 14" non-gaming laptop

Nice processor and 16tb of RAM. The weight offsets the portability of a 14 inch laptop though.
Review of the Ryzen 7 version https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/del...-in-1-7445
It says the build quality is nice with all metal which might be why it's heavy. The screen isn't good though. Sounds like a standard budget laptop screen.

I have one of these - the 760M is fast enough for decent settings on most modern games. Age of Mythology Remastered runs well as do other RTS games. It can run God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn (the remaster needs some settings tweaked). I mostly play Deep Rock Galactic on it though. Be aware that the temps run high unless you drop the CPU state to like 97%. I love this laptop, ram is upgradeable but the UMA framebuffer size can't be changed.

The lower end Dells always have craptacular screens. It's the first thing they cut corners on to make the low price point, unfortunately.

Some people don't care about this at all. And for some it means everything. Make sure you know which group you fall into before pulling the trigger.
