An eBay seller with a good rep. They have a website, too.

EliteBook 845 G8 deals come around often. Personally, I'm waiting for one with a better Ryzen CPU for around $200.

They had this same one for $192 around BF timeframe. (Excellent Refurbished) w special holiday promo. Buddy snagged one and it's serving him well. I believe this vendor has good track record.

Nah, 250 nits always a no-buy. The screen is the last thing you should go cheap. It's what you have to look at all the time. A 'good' display is at least 300. Base Macbooks are 400. This is trash.

FYI - I picked up same model with 32gb on a similar deal and screen was easy overclock to 90Hz with CRU. Screen is still not great but makes web scrolling better. CPU is surprisingly snappy tho

I use this laptop at my job. The screen is pretty basic and hard to see outdoors. The left click button is finnicky and doesnt always register. The touch screen is also unreliable.
It will work in a pinch with a tight budget. But if you can avoid HP products, it is in your best interest to do so.

I use this laptop. Its ok indoors but you won't be able to see it outside. Even January sun at 9 AM made it hard to read.

Google says this is about a 5-year old model, is that mostly correct?

When was the HP Elitebook 845 G8 released?

Hmm.... Given the price of Mini PCs and Raspberry Pi 5s with all the accessories, something like this might be a nice home lab machine. The screen brightness doesn't matter much if it stuffed in the closet. Hmmmm... What's the idle power draw of something like this?

That won't happen with memory prices as they are now, unfortunately

I have bought 12+++ laptops from this deal. All were basically brand new rigs.

Aren't there corporate lease returns with 2++++ years of usage? The statement that these were "brand new" should be taken with a pinch of salt. Seriously!
