Furthermore, unless you're booking for a large group of people that most hotels there can't accommodate, there's no good reason to do Airbnb. These Airbnbs are a huge part of the issue why locals are complaining about the over-tourism in Japan. Most of these Airbnbs, particularly in Osaka, are owned by foreign investors and they contribute to rising housing costs.
