The 50s had a fat old neck. Why won't they put the dang 60s on sale.

Hard agree. Why does anyone want the 50s neck?

I just returned this to Sweetwater, yesterday. The neck was twisting, there was a 2 inch scratch on the bottom, and there was pitting in the binding near the horn. It also sounded tinny. I was pretty disappointed. I have a number of Les Paul's and this was the first one that sounded bad.

Why is it called "Double Trouble?" Stevie played a Fender Strat.

I'm not sure if you're are joking but in case you are not: "Guitar World first reported on the models after we got a glimpse of them at Gibson's NAMM 2025 showcase, noting the line appeared to be inspired by the firm's legal wrangle with DiMarzio (over the use of the PAF name and the latter's trademark on cream color humbucker designs, or Double-Cream pickups)."

So much for their "55 point inspection" that can't detect a warped neck. LOL

Short answer: big hands. I went to a local GC to feel the difference and played both. 50s was smooth as silk for me, but 60s made my fingers feel like they were in a crowded subway car.

Interesting? I have huge hands and love the smaller neck.

Just to expand a little bit, fret hand positioning as well imo

I have large hands, but I also tend to hug the neck with my freting hand, so a thin neck doesnt cut it for me

Nice guitar. Unfortunately, the budget just isn't there.

Man, I have played Ibanez guitars, which have super slim necks, for quite a while. Then I got a strat with a fat neck and tried playing a 50 Les Paul and realized I just like the fat necks better than thin necks.

Yes, I was joking. I can't separate the "Double Trouble" moniker from Stevie. They go hand-in-hand.

Hah, true. Their 55 point inspection falls under myths and legends, at this point. The first thing I ever bought from them had a bent input jack. You couldn't test it because you couldn't plug it in.
