buy it.. worth every penny. advice: install a fresh copy of windows. also my unit had a manufacture date of 9-15-2025 so these are pretty spanking new.. the battery also was brand new no charging cycles.

Im working on a review of this, as well as the Non S (and comparing to a similar legion). Pretty happy with the Acer units ngl

nice.. the only cons for me are the battery life and speakers. but that was to be expected from reading the reviews. its nice and quiet unless youre on performance mode or turbo. other than that its been a nice upgrade from my Non Oled laptop.

Is the tgp low? Why does it score 3,000 below a Legion Pro 5i with the same 5070ti and 275hx?

ive been doing some wattage testing too, the performance is quite good even outside of full wattages

its appx 100w 5070ti.

Also stop looking at synthetics

This is the first short ive made, i have a full rundown of wattages and comparisons of this to the full wattage neo, and to the legion you mentioned in a week or so.

This laptop is SUPER thin, so its performance is very good considering the size. even at low watts it easily outperforms a 5070

This is getting more expensive each week. I got it for 1276 last week and it's been very nice

What do you mean like a fresh copy of windows? Like a restore? Or do you load up a full fresh install? I did a reset (online) as soon as I got mine, then did a "windows debloater" ( https://github.com/ChrisTitusTech/winutil ) and then uninstalled all the extra stuff still.

Have to agree.

I just got mine on Thursday and spent the evening setting it up and everything. The battery on mine was also brand new. The machine itself looked to be in perfect conditions with no issues at all. It was manufactured 8/27/25.

It's pretty loud and gets hot, but like it's been said in this post already that was all expected. The size feels great for what you are getting inside and for the money. The screen looks great! I use mine on a dock 95% of the time and so I don't mind the heat / noise as it's under the desk and away.

Oh and as mentioned the speakers suck. Wish there was a speaker upgrade for it 🤣

So overall cons:
  • Gets warm
  • Fans can be loud
  • Speakers suck
  • Battery life sucks
  • Locked display at 240hz
Despite those, it's 100% worth it imo.

You can also flash the vbios of the non-16s to it and get the full TDP of the GPU but I don't feel it's worth the hassle. https://old.reddit.com/r/GamingLa...a/mxoxv7r/

I bought this laptop back in December (for less) and ended up returning it. It's definitely fast for what it is, even though the TDP on the GPU is low, it would denoise 50mp photos in LRC at 10 seconds each. Handbrake processing was fast too. What's weird is this Acer laptop was faster than my MSI Vector with a 5070 ti. The issue I had with the Acer is it would give me BSOD here and there, even with a clean install of windows with the latest GPU drivers from Nvidia. Also the OLED screen had a weird grainy look to it, making it difficult to edit photos properly.

I bought one last time these came up and it came with several very noticeable dents on the top lid. It was packaged well so Acer refurbishing does deliver on that may have scratches and dings guidelines. Manufactured 9/25.

Purchased this over the holidays. WHAT A BUY! It is a terrific gaming laptop with an impressive Passmark Rating. It easily played current games and also works very well for video editing of hi res drone videos. This is really a terrific SLICKDEAL. Mine had no wear of any kind on it. I also purchased a 34" Refurbished Acer Monitor to use with it and that too was in grade A shape. This is my 5th Acer refurbished laptop and all of them have been pristine. NOTE: Submitted an order to BB when they had it on sale new for $1499. Within minutes of seeing this refurbished for $1278 I canceled the BB order. But BB would not cancel it, insisted on delivering it anyways, didn't even ship it for 4 days so they had it in stock such that it could be canceled, not being home it was returned, took me many weeks to get my refund. Too long a story but the refund delay caused me to miss a 20% discount on the Acer using Paypal at that time. Never again will I purchase from BB.

Unless you live in filth (and/or have pets who shed on or near your electronics) you shouldn't need to clean a laptop very often. And even then, all you'll really do is remove the bottom plate and clean off the vans and ventilation grates. Trying to re-paste the cooling system is a little insane, unless the system actually broke and is thermal throttling like crazy.
In general, if you're the type of person who gets anxious about the lifespan of your PC hardware - especially when most of it will far outlive its usefulness - buying a gaming laptop is probably not for you. They basically sit there and slowly cook themselves in the hopes you'll replace it before it actually turns to slag. This isn't to say they're actually unreliable, but they do run hot.
The 5070 Ti Mobile is a desktop 5070 running at a lower power budget. The mobile 5080 is a desktop 5070 Ti; the 5090 is a 5080.
