Just fyi you can find LOTR theatrical set for less than half the price on Amazon. Theatrical not bad if watching with non-book readers

These are not the remastered versions FYI. Still a good price though.
I don't believe these have the green tint issues that exist on the extended FOTR blurays.

Awesome movies, way better than the new trash show that seemed to be first about social agendas and second about the lore.

Definitely a good deal. If you haven't seen these films yet after 20 years, I don't know how to convince you other than to say do it

Good price. I'm not sure why anyone would want the theatrical editions though.

I agree. Star wars OT, these, Indiana Jones, and first 3 Rocky movies. I actually liked all of the Rocky movies.

They are way better than rings of power, but I did really enjoy it as well. Very slow start, but it really got good at the end of Season 1 and season 2

I just watched my 4k versions for the first time on a Samsung 50" 4k tv. I will never watch them again. I'm going back to my 1080p Blu Ray ones instead. Some of the scenes looked so fake that it completely pulled me out of the movie. The scene at the end of TOTK was the worst. When Mordor is crumbling and Sam and frodo are running towards the camera. You can tell it was a blue screen with all computer generated effects.
I have the 4k special edition Indiana Jones movies as well. The steel books. Still sealed. I think I'll be selling those as they are worth quite a lot. And going back to 1080p on all of my movie collection. I have had a 4k player and a few movies, but I had not yet replaced my 1080p tv as it still worked fine. I played them at a relatives house. Not a fan. Movies can really be "too clear". Then everything is very noticeable. Kind of like the old "soap opera effect on some tvs years ago. I never really found out what caused that. Okay, my 4k rant is over. Sorry.

Keep in mind a few things.

Not all 4k picture transfers are the same.

A 4k player will play BR disc, they actually upscale the picture to 4k which regularly is very good.
At the very least, much better than 1080p.

You're forgetting to other half of a movie experience.... audio.
Not many BR disc offer the upgraded object based soundtracks.

Would be a moot point if you're using the popular option of a soundbar.
Imo you're missing out on the better half of the movie experience.
