good tool, but not exactly slick by any means. check price history and it's been hovering at $40 for quite some time, and only recently they jacked up the price over $60 to make you think you're getting a deal.

if you work on your own car, this is a good to have. It pays for itself with 1 belt change.

The Gearwrench set is higher quality and much more flexible to fit just about all applications but if your set works well enough on the vehicles that you have, you probably don't need to upgrade.

Yea, true. Although it's only $40 and if it saves me from a headache on a 2011 camry, it might be worth it

I got one of these for between $20 and $30 when a Sears was closing down. Does that count?
It's a rarely used tool that is well beloved in my shop. It's a finicky and convoluted collection of poorly fitting bits that barely works. Still, I know of none better.
Well, maybe the Husky version, clearly made by Apex tool with the same tooling as the Gearwrench line uses since it was only $25 on a Holiday special about 5 years ago. Exact same pieces in a bulkier case. Doesn't seem to be available new anymore.
Note that both of these sets use the same interface as the the 3/8" pass through socket system Gearwrench, Apex, Husky, Sears Craftsman, and a few others use. When you've got to get creative getting into tight spaces, it's nice to have bits and pieces that play well together. If you don't already have a serpentine belt tool you like, I'd recommend this one in Husky or Gearwrench flavors.

Look under the hood or watch a video of a belt change on that car to see what the access to the tensioner is like. Some cars it's as simple as a breaker bar, others take a convoluted mess of lever arms like in this kit to get it right. But you're right, having the correct tool for the job can sometimes turn it from a long headache into a 10-minute walk in the park.

Seriously, if you only use this tool once a while, this is the best option. https://www.harborfreight.com/ser...63689.html

tl;dw the Gearwrench took 2nd place, and tromped all over the ICON.

Honestly this is overpaying for what it is in itself. In this case this isn't a complicated tool. You'd be better off going to HF or Amazon and buy the alternatives.

I'm more worried about clearance as tight as things can be. I found the tool for the least amount of clearance.
