The link in the OP comes with a 1/2" blade. It's only $5 more to get it with a 1/2" blade and 1/4" blade.

There's been a few dozen times when I've had to chop fries from raw potatoes for our family. It sucked but 5 minutes later I had them all done.

Not sure I'm willing sacrifice this amount of cabinet space for an occasional tool. A sharp knife, a few cuss words and 5-10 minutes will be my continued method.

If you're actually making so many fries that you are considering this, and if have a food processor, considering buying a fry blade. It'll last longer than this, cost 1/4 the price, and it's infinitely easier.
I now have to look up food processor fry blades, because until now I never knew there was such a thing!

I bought one of these last year. It is a cool idea, but it turns out that sweet potatoes are much harder than regular potatoes and the blades broke.
I can concur that cleaning is a pain!

Just get a Mandoline. You can change the shape/size and do much more than just potatoes.

This looks fun to clean. Handy if you make fries all the time but for the occasional use I think its better just to cut potatoes by hand.

Go to pretty much any yard sale or flea market, and look for something called the Veg-o-matic. It does this at a price FAR less than $40!!! 🤣

From this review: > My only ding on it is that you have to completely take it apart to clean, keep track of all the little screws, and then reassemble it, so don't throw away the instructions!Maybe that's fine for a restaurant, but I'm not going through that effort for a batch of fries at home.
They are wing nuts and only 4 looks easy to break down and clean?

I heard Alton Brown say once that kitchen tools that can only do one thing are a waste of space...I tend to agree with him

This looks to have a plastic end cap. If you are not buying one that is completely steel, then its bs. It will break. There seems to be a lot of fluff posts on here from CLAWD AI. If its not steel, it wont cut shit. It will cut like five potatos and then break. Temuesque.

Knives cut potatoes too….less cleanup involved.
Word to the wise: When I worked in a kitchen years back, I found the easiest way to clean such a potato cutter they had was using the metal tip of a hanger to scrape it clean before sanitizing it down. (Just improvising off my surroundings!) Versus less safe ideas coworkers had 😅 If the product claims of being easy to clean with water aren't quite true.
