Very likely. I paid $170 for this in October 2024 and see it at this price often so I don't think this is a hot deal. It is a very good camera, though. I can recommend it wholeheartedly.
I've been following the price since it came out. Lowest I've seen is $160 (159.99). My configuration if I got it would total $227 with the CPL and the SD card.
I remember reading about a guy posting on Reddit how good this camera is, but how bad the secondary camera is (which does not use a STARVIS 2 sensor most likely would be the camera mounted on the back of your car). From his perspective being able to pull license plate info from cars behind you was equally as important as pulling license plate info from cars in front of you. STARVIS 2 sensor excels at this where as STARVIS 1 has a really hard time pulling license plate numbers (which most secondary cameras use).
The Reddit poster's idea was to mount A229 cameras both in the front and in the rear. Essentially that would mean having two systems running in parellel (i.e. two micro SD cards would be needed). This is of course more expensive but the quality of video feed you would get from both the front and back of your car was top knotch. I don't think any camera systems ATM have both the front and back cameras using the STARVIS 2 sensor.

But both camaras (Front and back) use STARVIS 2 sensors. It's the 3CH version who has a internal camera STARVIS 1 sensor.

You are correct. Sorry, I was confusing the sensor with the camera resolution. The issue I was bringing up was concerning the A229 Pro, not the Plus. The Pro has a 4k front and a 2k back. For this reason the individual I mentioned created a setup so he'd have 4k for both front and back by using two front cameras. Now there is a A229 Ultra model which has 4k front and back.
