In what way
private company, owned by a Pakastani, most of their support team works from Pakastan. Though it's a company registered in New York.

I don't know all the workings behind the scenes. I've been with them (5 lines) for a bit over 4 years with no issues (Warp and Lightspeed only)

They are REALLY pushing Darkstar, so gotta be getting some sweet deal from ATT or planning to get a ton of subscribers and hoping ATT buys them out???

I'm glad this doesn't work for their Tmobile or Verizon. I'd be pissed because I just paid more for their annual.
But this is AT&T and that is shit around here.

No. You have to manually submit a request to change networks ("Teleport") through the app or web portal. No way to trigger it accidentally.

As others have mentioned, it's very sketchy how USM advertises this, but if you know / suspect / ultimately determine that you'll need access to T-Mobile or Verizon, the annual add on for "multi-network" would allow you to add one of those networks for cheap, which then allows you to use the secondary network for data.

In that case, the backup network would be added to the device as a secondary line / eSIM, and you can toggle between the two as desired (and, at least on an iPhone, you can designate the secondary line as default for data and/or enable automatic network switching).

The downside to this approach is if DarkStar (AT&T) has no coverage, your calls and text messages won't go through (though you could still use Wi-Fi calling while connected to Wi-Fi, and/or iMessage and FaceTime calling on an iPhone through the secondary line). That may be too complicated for someone who isn't tech savvy, but ultimately isn't too difficult overall.
The 2nd network also gets talk and text, and you can port an existing number into it. So this also works if you are already on them and want to switch later (Though would have to activate multi network plan later).

Basically have the Dark Star line be a random ported in number from whatever, and then have a 2nd line on Warp that has your real number.

The actual terms do not allow for any transfers:

The line must remain on Dark Star for the full duration of the annual cycle. Attempts to transfer the line to any other network will void the discount, and the line's authorized payment method will be charged the difference between the full price of the annual Unlimited Premium plan and the discounted price.
You can't switch to another provider a few days early and forfeit the remaining time? How are you supposed to jump ship to another cheaper plan if you are locked in and the full price auto renew kicks in?

I got a similar deal at Christmas, got the multiline for $45 and have never been happier with mobile service. Dark Star (AT&T) sucks at home but Warp (T-mobile) works great. other places I go (Los Angeles) it's quite the opposite. i put the shortcut on my home screen that lets me quickly swap the data line and i have fast mobile internet everywhere. I came from visible (verizon) which was slow everywhere.

Warp is actually Verizon, not T-Mobile.

Dark Star = AT&T
Warp = Verizon
Lightspeed = T-Mobile

Dumb to have to talk in code, but most of the major carriers prevent MVNOs (like USM) from explicitly naming the parent network they're using.

It appears the S25 Edge is now out of stock. The Pixel 10 showed out of stock earlier then popped back up, so will check again later.

I have a bunch of lines with US Mobile but not any of my primary lines. Service works. Support is good.

What is odd is that if anyone complains on their subreddit, an army of their employees/fan club will downvote, reply with negative comments, etc. It has to be a management decision to do this to push the posts further down, because why would their regular customers care if someone is having an issue with their service? You can review the sub and see the trend.

all companies are doing that in stealth, try complaining about tesla on reddit.

ive been using USM for a year now (was on T-mobile), reception is phenomenal since i have both ATT and VZ lines on my phone but it kills the battery. rarely use support, very transactional. since they have these porting deals, one can try swapping lines every now and then since they screw loyal customers

I don't doubt that but Tesla actually has very passionate fanboys .. this is US Mobile .. if someone is having voicemail issues, why do they need so many downvotes?

Yeah, it appears they sold out of whatever quantity they reserved for the promo and are now back to their regular prices for S25 Edge and Pixel 10 XL

"Offer valid for new and existing US Mobile customers" - This is NOT true. You cannot use this annual plan if you're an existing customer. It is only for Port-ins from another carrier. Existing customers w/ existing liens only get the the 50% Network Add-in.

That is inaccurate The mods on there are super engaged and from time to time they do need to dispel incorrect information, but have you tried support via their mods? I have its great. I don't see a trend of mods downvoting at all, and not sure how you would know WHO specifically is downvoting that is just some theory that cannot be supported by any data unless you work for reddit. One of the things I DO see is that USM deals are not consistent and that confuses people. For instance USM can go on any of the 3 major networks. If you pay full price that is the case, but this specific deal has two things that differ from "normal" 1. It can only be on ATT (darkstar), 2. You only have 30 days to activate (vs 90 normal). So this is a special deal for a special flavor, and they often don't clearly articulate this which can be confusing to people who are just looking for a deal. So the reco is that you be 100% sure that ATT workd for you first, because this is 1 year prepaid, and if you want to move you will get charged 2x or more to move to another network or you port out and lose any remaining $$$. This is prepaid, you pay no refunds.
