I never said the mods aren't great -- they are helpful to everyone and even DM to get things resolved. Their reddit sub is a great way to get support when the live chat is stuck in an infinite loop.
Yes, its a theory based on data you can verify for yourself on their sub. Anyone having issues with voicemail, porting, etc, get heavily downvoted. I'm a customer, what do I get out of downvoting people who need help? So that just leaves people with skin in the game. It might not be the mods, it might just be a sea of CS employees doing it.
As I said, I have many lines with them, just not willing to port my primary lines to them. I've had dealing with almost all the MVNOs out there and USM has been a great experience.

I'm on this network since December and it's been good for me.
They allow a free, no obligation trial for up to 30 days without forfeiting the new customer requirement for this deal, so you can test the service before buying it for a full year. I I took the same plan at 159/year a month ago.
I'm in Miami, and have not left South Florida since activating, so I can't speak to coverage outside Miami & Ft Lauderdale.
It's been good for me so far, except while in the Design District or Midtown, where it's shoddy. Most of my time is spent downtown, in Brickell and on Miami Beach, and coverage has been good in these areas.

Pixels have a history of bugs and hardware issues.
US Mobile doesn't follow the law. They give you hassles when you try to port out your number.
So both = hard pass.

Quote from TechProf :
The actual terms do not allow for any transfers:

The line must remain on Dark Star for the full duration of the annual cycle. Attempts to transfer the line to any other network will void the discount, and the line's authorized payment method will be charged the difference between the full price of the annual Unlimited Premium plan and the discounted price.

You can't switch to another provider a few days early and forfeit the remaining time? How are you supposed to jump ship to another cheaper plan if you are locked in and the full price auto renew kicks in?
I took this to mean something different, but it's important that we figure out what this really means. I read this as you must remain on Dark Star (AT&T) and not jump to Warp or Lightspeed (where this promo is not applicable) and will thus be charged the full rate if you switch to those "in house networks" (rendering the network add on less useful). Porting out to a different carrier and ending your service early is something different. If this is a prepaid plan, I don't see how they can retroactively charge your card if you part ways earlier (and have already paid for the service you are forfeiting).

Can anyone confirm or deny that this is the case?

Dark Star is ATT network, this states MUST remain active on Dark Star.

I have no clue how ATT hasn't closed down because everywhere I've been their network is shit.
This is what I think of TMo, junk. I find AT&T excellent and Verizon largely passable
Dark Star is working great for me and this is the best deal I've seen on it 👍🏼

Yes, you can switch to another provider (not US Mobile) anytime and forfeit your remaining time on the prepaid plan. If you jump to another network on US Mo you'll lose your port in promo price

I snagged the 67 BF deal and have been happy with their light speed (t mobile) coverage. My wife is due to end her mint plan in less than a month; willing to try dark star (AT&T).

Question for the mind hive: will the referral bonus stack with the mid winter blowout promo?
It will, but since the price of this plan is so low it doesn't qualify for the referral bonus unless the referree buys 2 of the plans. This is because the plan bought must be $100 or more pro rated over 6 months. One of these midwinter promos is only $60 or $75 over 6 months depending on if you go with starter or premium.

I am confused. what is dark star network? How do I know if that's good or need to switch?
Dark Star is AT&T. You'll want to do your research and make sure it's decent in your area before committing. It works great for me but all of the networks have their strong and weak areas

I chatted to them on this. This won't work. You are locked on Dark Star.

"However, with the multi-network add-on, you can add a second line with a separate number to your primary line that shares your unlimited data plan, but that is on a different network (for example, if your primary line is on Light Speed, you could add a second line on Warp). This addon will not allow your primary line on WINTER149 to change networks."
They didn't explain this well. What they're saying is you can't use the network transfer function on your Dark Star line. You can however buy multinetwork and use the second network which resides on a separate esim

Does the Unlimited Premium plan still have deprioritized data?
No, it's QCI8 on Dark Star which is on par with AT&T's upper echelon plans

Thanks for catching this. What about the standard $25 referral, will that still work?

The real deal here isn't the plans--it's the discount on premium phones.
The plan is a hell of a deal for folks that like AT&T's network, by far the best I've seen from US Mo in the 7 months I've been following

QCI 9 is the lowest priority for data, right? That means it slows down your speeds when the network is busy, even if you are on 5G with good signal? 20GB tethered via my smartphone for this price is a good deal assuming the network isn't too busy when you need it. Been with them awhile now and they do pay rewards on your referrals. Only issue I had was getting voicemail working on my Tracfone branded Samsung phone. Finally gave up with them and just programmed the phone so when I do a long press on "1" it dials my own phone number which puts me into voicemail.
Anyone have any idea how to get visual voicemail with DarkStar? Is there an app somewhere that I am too dumb to find on my own? Please and thank you.

Yeah, but this deal is dying soon, and then I can't back to the previous plan.
You can buy the deal now, you have 30 days to request a refund (ref. their promo archive)

Thanks for checking, it's a no go for me then. I'll stick with visible pro + for now since they also got a good promo and include android smartwatch plan for my Samsung ultra.
They were wrong but yeah if you already have a good thing with Visible stick with it especially if VZ beats AT&T in your area
