I've been looking into the NxtPaper devices since they popped up on my radar. A couple things one should be aware of before buying in...

TCL has used the same anemic processor on all of these NxtPaper devices and has no desire to change that. There's even a new NxtPaper tablet on Kickstarter right now and it still uses the same ancient CPU.

TCL has never sold replacement nibs for their various stylus models. Last I heard, the official word from TCL is they have no plans on changing that in the future.

Caveat emptor on this one, folks.

This was the reason I would hesitate to jump on this. TCL tablets are slow as heck like onn tablets. 6gb RAM isn't going to cut it either. The storage is abysmally slow. Things take a tad bit longer than needed to have a decent experience.

I got the 10" deal from last month. I think that was a decent deal. But I not using it as much as I thought I would. The screen is nice, looks to be the same coating as Apple nano display. But the tablet is underpowered garbage.

Also this is what TCL dos. They put out the absolute least amount of crap and repackage it year after year. I am worried how they are going to suck the soul out of the Sony electronics.
These would be so promising if they'd just release one with modern specs. I love the idea of the e-inkish display on a tablet.

Seems like they missed the mark here.

As I mentioned before, they have a Kickstarter right now for a new model that is supposed to be coming out mid-February and watching them interact with backers reveals how clueless they really are. I initially backed them until I saw the train wreck behind the scenes with the responses they had to backer questions and concerns.

I'm now hoping that the anti reflective coating and grayscale mode on the Galaxy S10+ can get me close to the NxtPaper experience.

I have the nxtpaper 10 and specs apart, the screen, matte display and the various reading modes (which are the same for this tablet as well) really make a difference in the experience, especially if one does a lot of reading. This tablet has literally replaced the kindle for my kid with the advantage of having access to online local libraries in US (because of android apps) and read books with color pics on the go. YMMV
I got one when it was free at StraightTalk. I have been looking for a cheap case (less than $10), do you have a case on it?

It's been reported that the 10" sold by ST comes unlocked so the new unlock policy isn't an issue.
Correct. I have two Moto G Stylus 2025 too. One of them is now unlocked; the other is pending until it completes the second month.
The TCL 10" NXTPAPER at ST was free although I had to pay $60 for 3 months of service. This tablet has been reported unlocked due to the 3 months of service back then, not sure about now with the new policy if you need one.

Yes I am using this case: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FC5ZX53P

It was under $10 when I bought it and it has been working fine for my kid

So the tablet with the months service plan comes out to be what before you can cancel the service plan to keep the tablet?

edit: I see so you can cancel it after 1 month so it would be $85 and you just hope that it's unlocked?

This tablet seems to perform better than the Samsung Tab A9+ 5G from Metro by T-Mobile. Although it is a bit sluggish but the Samsung tablet seems much slower.

I bought this to replace my Kindle Paperwhite. I enjoy reading with e-ink device, but the navigation on the Kindle is as good as the Kindle app on a regular tablet, where you can scroll through the pages. Now that the TCL tablet has NXT Paper tech, it seems to be a good alternative to the Kindle. I have not tested the Kindle app on TCL yet, but the NXT Paper option seems to be very close to e-ink.

I am not a big fan of TCL, but it seems like I don't see any other major brand has made this technology yet.

Got this device for free to beta test. It's worth what I paid for it.

TCL must not be in good financial condition if they need Kickstarter. I was thinking about ordering but then realized it's a low resolution screen. Not for me.
