Motorola's moto g power 2024 5G stands out as a budget unlocked phone that feels better than expected for the money, especially as a daily driver or backup. The display gets positive marks, and the phone works with Verizon based networks and resellers like US Mobile and Red Pocket. Bundling it with Visible or a prepaid card can bring the out the door price close to $100 to $115. The camera is the main weak spot, with better results in good light than indoors or dim light, and AT and T compatibility and unlock timing can be limiting. A solid low cost option if those tradeoffs fit your carrier needs.
buyers planning to pair it with Visible because bundling a Visible+ $35/mo plan plus the eSIM/pSIM kit brought the total to about $100.89 including tax, and another commenter said the Visible bundle can land around $110-$115 depending on the SIM tier.
people who can wait for unlock timing and don't need AT&T service immediately because the Tracfone variant may take about a year to unlock and likely won't pass AT&T whitelist checks even after unlocking, so it can be a better fit if you're using Verizon-based resellers instead.
people who need a cheap unlocked daily-driver right now because commenters said it's been their daily driver for months and performance was better than expected, with only the camera being a weak spot (GCam helped indoors).
backup-phone shoppers because one commenter said they use it as a backup, the display is pretty good, and they paid about $110 for an open-box unit (they hadn't even tried the camera).
buyers who want to lower the out-the-door cost with add-ons because one commenter said adding a $19 visible prepaid card dropped the phone+card total to about $105 out-the-door.
buyers who specifically need AT&T compatibility right away because commenters said the Tracfone variant is likely to be blocked by AT&T whitelist checks even after unlocking, and unlocking can take a long time.
people who care a lot about camera quality because commenters called the camera a truly weak spot, with photos struggling in dimmer indoor light (even though GCam can help).
buyers who are trying to avoid MediaTek/Dimensity chipsets because one commenter suspected MediaTek and confirmed Dimensity 7020, calling it a hard pass even if it were free.
AT&T compatibility is a likely problem for the Tracfone variant because it may fail AT&T whitelist checks even after unlocking. It is reported to work with Verizon-based providers and other resellers such as US Mobile and RedPocket.

The phone can unlock after about 2 months on some carrier variants. Tracfone-branded versions activated after January 20, 2026 require 365 days of active, paid service before unlocking, even if a 1-year plan satisfies the paid-service requirement.
It can be a solid daily driver and backup phone, with performance and display quality that feel better than expected for the price. The main weak spot is the camera, which is fine in good light but struggles indoors and in dim light; GCam can improve it somewhat.
Not a super good deal, but a decent price if you need it now.
Been my daily driver for 8 months. Way better than it should be. 1 truly weak spot is camera but Gcam helped. Pics are fine in good light but start to struggle with dimmer indoor light

QVC Moto G Power Tracfone 2-Pack w/1500 Minutes Texts & Data and Accessories $109.00
The QVC offer is a good one: but not a direct comparison. The Tracfone variant will take a year to unlock, and almost certainly will not pass AT&T's whitelist check even after unlocking.
If you need minimal service right away, the QVC offer could come out on top.
I added the "Visible+ $35/mo Plan + eSIM/pSIM Kit - Unlimited 5G data included - Blue" with the phone and ended up paying $100.89 including tax. Not bad.

Only 2 months to unlock. Not sure about AT&T, but it works with Verizon / others that resell verizon - USMobile, RedPocket, etc., etc.
I got this phone, with a fitbit for $79 I think, but no time machine. I found it here a month or so ago (before Christmas)

For phones activated on Tracfone after January 20, 2026, unlocking now requires 365 days of active (& paid) service for unlocking. A bundled 1-year plan suffice for the 'paid' requirement, but you still have to wait 365 days. Yes the Tracfone variant should work fine on providers using Verizon and T-Mobile networks-- it's just AT&T network that is likely to be blocked due to not being on the AT&T whitelist.

Well that sucks, and I'm glad to know that now before I make another purchase.
Luckily I activated the last one before Jan 20th!
I'll have to go ahead and get another backup phone burning through the year wait time I guess.

I agree that this phone seems way better than it should be for the money. I think I paid around $110 for an open box unit, and it's working great as a backup (I haven't tried the camera). The display is pretty good, too.
I got the $50 annual plan deal from Infinimobile.
Can only get the visible bundle to work with the $30 + and $35 + Pro SIM cards, but it does take the overall price down to $110 or $115 respectively. You can also add the 3 month Lively Wireless SIM card as an additional bundle for free.

The phone uses a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 processor. That detail is enough for some shoppers to rule it out entirely, even at a very low price.
