Depends on your client. Does your client IE computer also support more than 1gbps? If not then it's irrelevant

I don't need such a big switch on my bedroom TV. I have a Nintendo Switch 2, PS5 and an Intel NUC. One uplink. 5 ports is plenty. $9 is a wonderful price.

example i can give, i run ethernet from the main router to various rooms in the house that have wallplates. if you wanted to hook up multiple devices in say the living room specifically this would be a cheap way to turn that 1 ethernet plug in that room into 3 where 8 ports would just be overkill for that 1 room for sure.
