this "isolate" 25g protein in 36g scoop
nutricost isolate is 30g in 35g scoop https://www.amazon.com/Nutricost-...B01HOPJAAE
ascent blend is 25g in 33g scoop https://www.costco.com/p/-/ascent.../100985271

70% protein by weight is kinda low for isolate (25g/36g serving). Do all those fillers mean it tastes good?

Also higher calorie - 140cal with 100 of those from protein, again high for isolate. But, sometimes those fillers make it taste better.

I also generally prefer sucralose to stevia - tastes better, although I realize that is an unpopular opinion around here.

This isn't an isolate for all intents and purposes, that saturated fat content defeats the purpose of getting an isolate, and it's mildly worrying that they don't list the cholesterol content even though that's a required part of the nutrition label.

I'm going to get one bag just to see if it has it on the actual basg when I get it in, as I'm curious.

it started because isolate is quicker absorbing protein than whey , or casein which is slower than whey. So you drink isolate post workout and not before bed. I like it because it's more like Gatorade than a chunky shake and I've never had a bad tasting one.
Cheers I had never heard iso digests faster than wpc. Guess it makes sense though. Still I would think it would be a very minor thing considering most people don't just mix powder and pure H2O and have nothing to eat until their next meal.

Cholesterol is likely to be low, but you are correct that they should print it.MCT Oil, Sunflower Lechitin, and/or Sodium Caseinate can all explain the extra saturated fat. However, all three of these are low in cholesterol. That said, I've determined it isn't a great deal. At 3.4 cents per gram of protein, it's a good, but not great deal. There are have been and will be better values for isolates or high-isolate blends. The recent Quest deal was one of them at about 2.8 cents per gram of protein. You can usually get pure isolate from Canadian Bulk Protein for 3.4 cents per gram, everyday.
Quest one has sucralose

I believe they are reputable. I don't really believe in third party testing. Seems like classic institutional capture - the companies being tested pay for the testing. If you do, CBP has it, down to the lot. Also, Canada food regulation is stronger than most sources. That said, my last order was turned back at the border due to recent political events. Not CBP's fault, and I got my money back, but frustrating.
You dont believe in third party tests but youll believe in whatever Schmo's product that hasn't gone through any type of regulation? Thats how we got that one product that was claiming like 20g protein but had like 1g. Everyone said it tasted amazing too

Yea that's a wildly stupid take lol I've never heard anyone say 3rd party testing a supplement is fraudulent. There's a lot of crappy unscrupulous supplement producers who would loooove to hear you say so though.

How?

also, Amazon wants to collect sales tax on this in WA where food is not taxed. For the Nutricost deal they didn't collect sales tax. Very inconsistent.

Edit: it looks like it's because this protein lists supplement facts instead of nutritional facts, making it a supplement, while Nutricost is labeled as food. Weird.
I cancelled the creamy vanilla S&S as I didn't get the $40.92 price either. I did get the larger size 5.42 pound Dutch Chocolate for $44.07

Let's look at a couple examples the recent Consumer Reports testing (not paid for by the supplement industry) vs. third party testing. CR testing is not paid for by the industry.

Huel Black Edition: 6.3 mcg lead/serving and 9.2 mcg cadmium. NSF Certified testing claimed it to be clean.

Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass: 8.5 mcg arsenic per serving. ON claims it is "regularly tested".

Naked Nutrition Vegan Mass Gainer: 7.7 mcg lead per serving. It is "Independent Lab Tested"

Vega Premium Sport: Over 4.1 mcg cadmium. It is Informed Choice and NSF certified.

Some of the supplement industry claims that these are safe levels. Maybe for one serving a day (iffy), but if you are a bodybuilder taking 3+ servings/day, these levels are pretty dangerous.

If four different testers and brands have this problem, I would go far enough to say the industry has a problem.

Face it, the supplement industry is unregulated. But, third party testing is not a replacement for regulation - it is just meaningless marketing hype. The industry picks testers that will pass them. The testers don't flat-out lie, but they mess with what they call "safe" levels, saying 10mcg of lead is safe, or only testing for steroids and not testing for toxins at all.

Your best bets are:
1) Real whole, natural food. More expensive. Less convenient, but you know what you are eating. When I eat chicken, I know it is chicken. When I eat flavored powder, not so sure what it is.
2) Isolates. The manufacturing process for isolates filters out most of the bad stuff (along with the lactose and cholesterol), and isolates did fairly well in CR testing. Heavy metals can still be added with poor manufacturing or companies just outright lying and not giving you isolate though.

Vegan and concentrates are riskier, as they aren't filtered as much.

I think you don't... Cholesterol does matter for people who's liver doesn't do a good job of removing excess cholesterol, mine for instance, where I went from over 500 combined, mostly ldl, to 173 combined in 1 year by just cutting out most sources of higher dietary cholesterol and eating more veggies. The veggies I did first and they made little impact on their own. Thanks though,I think I'll keep listening to my dietitian and Dr, considering it's their advice that actually helped lol.
Damn bro you a body builder? 500 is crazy 😨 were you bulking? Did you ever get a CAC scan, you could have plaque build up even if your numbers look good now. I'm assuming you are since you #'s dropped fast within a year without statins. Good to hear you got it under control, I have a patient case right now who refuses to change their diet...smh
