this "isolate" 25g protein in 36g scoop

ascent blend is 25g in 33g scoop https://www.costco.com/p/-/ascent.../100985271

70% protein by weight is kinda low for isolate (25g/36g serving). Do all those fillers mean it tastes good?

Also higher calorie - 140cal with 100 of those from protein, again high for isolate. But, sometimes those fillers make it taste better.

I also generally prefer sucralose to stevia - tastes better, although I realize that is an unpopular opinion around here.

This isn't an isolate for all intents and purposes, that saturated fat content defeats the purpose of getting an isolate, and it's mildly worrying that they don't list the cholesterol content even though that's a required part of the nutrition label.

I'm going to get one bag just to see if it has it on the actual basg when I get it in, as I'm curious.

Are you saying both the vanilla and chocolate flavors taste great or are you just referring to chocolate? I see reviews from people saying the vanilla tastes great but others think it tastes terrible.

I've always had good experience with the Sports Research brand but for this item the Vitamin D3 seems like a dealbreaker for me. I already taken D3+K12 supplement and this has 20mcg more of D3 which might be excessive for me. I also believe the MCT (extra fat) was added for Vitamin D3 because that vitamin is fat soluble.
20 mcg is 800 IU. That's probably not going to be too much unless your vitamin D levels are testing high. You need to get your levels tested to know where you are though. I take 7000 IU vitamin D daily and my most recent VITAMIN D, 25-HYDROXY test result was 49ng/mL which is not a high level. That's kind of in the middle of the good range. My doctor says normal range goes up to 100 ng/mL, so I could be taking even more. However, everyone's body is different so you need to test your levels to know where you are. If I added another 800 IU I might bump up over 50ng/mL but that would not be problematic even though I'm taking a large 7000 IU supplement already.

Yeah, I think for the meantime, I'm gonna mix it 50/50 with my real isolate to make sure I'm not giving myself too much cholesterol,it's just weird, cause that's legally required to be on the label for anything that can possibly contain cholesterol.
Dietary cholesterol barely impacts blood cholesterol. It's not a big deal. Eat your eggs.

$20 more and you can get 5 lbs proper grass fed unflavored, for anyone who prefers clean. Nutricost brand at iHerb on S&S. Haven't touched flavored whey since 2023.

Not entirely accurate. The most reason for an isolate is either the low lactose present or the low kcals. People spend extra for one or both of those things.
It's the lactose for me.
