Curious, how is this front page when it was selling on Amazon for 19.99 a month ago (Dec 28)?

Are they watching via cable/satellite/antenna? Streaming is always a little behind. Not a ton. Like 10-20s or so.
No, they are all also watching on various TVs and PCs through the app or browser. 15-25 seconds is both really short and also forever with some live sports. But I enjoy watching while chatting with friends also watching and I am ALWAYS seemingly the one the most behind.

I totally get the one guy who likes to listen to the radio being ahead, but it doesn't make any sense when someone else watching on a TV using the exact same app is consistently 15-20 seconds ahead. And sometimes I'm even more delayed that than. Sporadically I'm 45+ seconds behind.

Unless you have a 4K or HDR compatible TV with an HDCP 2.2 port or plan to in the future, there is no reason to pay extra for the 4K streaming stick.

The cheaper HD model delivers the same picture quality, the same app performance, and the same streaming experience on a 1080p TV.

HDR adds nothing without a compatible display, and the extended WiFi claims are mostly hype. Both devices are dual band with no noticeable real world difference.

Save the money unless you are actually using 4K.

1080p model for $16.

Per the comparison table on Wikipedia, the 4k version has more RAM and storage.

Not sure how much of a real-world difference it makes, though.

This is one of Roku's newest player, the only flaw IMHO, is that it lacks a MPEG-2 hardware decoder, only important if you use it to play free Over-The-Air broadcast TV, like with Tablo. It struggle to play MPEG-2 content, no smooth and at lower detail/resolution.If you need to play MPEG-2 content smoothly, get the Streaming Stick 4K for $5 more which also is capable of Dolby Vision, has a better WiFi reception but it lacks the Bluetooth to connect headphones, but you can do this later with the Roku App.Both of these players can decode AV1 in hardware, including HDR content.
would u say onn players better for tablo?

Is it any good for playing creepy latin/korean/Turkish shows for my grandma using vpn? While doing it I thought casino ads is going to come out of the screen. After forcing firetv it to use ad guard home - it broke my entire internet and didn't kill ads also I saw how deeply they are gathering data form that little spy device. So ho roku compares to that? I need something to play media on my terms and don't have spying device. I'm still paying for many subscribtions so fully DIY won't work.

It could be the old Roku, could be a number of things affecting it. Some apps have a specific lag delay setting like YouTube TV for example:
