Just posted about this 4K version in the "HD" version's thread:

https://slickdeals.net/f/19162957-15-99-roku-streaming-stick-hd-2025-streaming-media-player-w-roku-voice-remote-at-amazon

I do think the 4K version is worth it for $9 more for most use cases.

I got the 2022 version of the 4K Streaming Stick [amazon.com] locally a couple of weeks ago as a cheap Apple AirPlay receiver for my non-Smart TV. It works pretty well for that purpose. Outside of buying an Apple TV at $130, using a Roku device such as this seems to be the cheapest and simplest way to add AirPlay support to an HDMI display.

I really wasn't planning on using any of the other functionality since I have a Windows PC connected to my TV for gaming and streaming. However, I was pleasantly surprised about the free content that was available, particularly kids content on the Roku Family and Kids channel. So far, I think everything I've tested was Ad-free. It's also very easy for kids to use on their own. It's a much simpler "portal" to access free resources such as PBS Kids and Tubi and Hoopla compared to firing up the PC. Of course, the PC has the benefit of Firefox + uBlock Origin. I guess something like this might be possible the the Walmart Onn Streaming box too? I don't have one, so I don't know.

(The 2025 version of the 4K Streaming Stick is identical the 2022 version I bought. The 2025 version has lower power consumption and can more reliably be run off of a TV's USB Port. The 2022 version consumes more power and is recommended to be plugged into a power outlet, but it has a more powerful Wifi antenna built into the USB power cable).

I don't know if it's targeted, but I'm getting bonus cash back offers for most Roku products on Amazon if I pay with my prime visa card. The cash back varies - 15% for this item. The cheaper 2025 stick has 10%. Those are the totals, including the normal 5% for using the card on Amazon.

You should probably post the model of TV you have so people can look up the specs the TV is capable of to give you a better answer Smilie

I have an older "TCL 55-Inch Q7 QLED 4K Smart Google TV" (I think the "TCL QM7K" is the version you'd buy for the same price today except better quality? Totally guessing here Smilie ) and a "Roku Streaming Stick 4K - HDR & Dolby Vision Roku Streaming Device for TV with Voice Remote & Long-Range Wi-Fi - Free & Live TV".. roku is currently streaming all the John Wick movies for free so to test the quality of the picture the roku could put out I played John Wick 4 and was blown away at the quality of the picture... mind you I'm easy to impress with picture quality to begin with Stick Out Tongue

My Roku stick was $25 as a black friday november 2025 special but I'd argue it might be worth the $10 more at $35 compared to the OP's deal (no offense OP and thanks for posting it Smilie ) for the better wifi it's supposed to offer and the power brick that comes with it so you can plug the roku stick into an outlet instead of having to rely on usb power from the TV... from forums dealing with roku I've read online both help.

Also if you do grab the roku stick check roku's website once a month for promotional offers.. I scored 3 free months of apple TV which I'm currently enjoying, especially nice was telling Netflix and their $20 a month subscription fees bye bye for the three months Stick Out Tongue (netflix is supposed to hold onto your viewing data - save list, profiles and so forth... for at least 10 months , think their website claims 24 months? Not sure if netflix would keep track of what shows you were watching and what episode you were on but pretty easy to just type up a note on your computer with that info ).. sadly the three free month offer for apple TV is over now Frown but it's worth checking each month on the appropriate roku website (November is always a great time to check too, not only roku but just google search say "black friday streaming offers" )

If you like the Roku ecosystem, this is a good deal. IMO the $20 onn 4k (has HDR but no DV) at or $30 onn Plus for DV&HDR support @ Walmart is the best bank for the buck.

Rokus are good for ease of use, especially for kids. The interface is very new user friendly. But it's codec, app and direct play support leaves much to be desired. For those who just use canned apps like Netflix/appletv/prime/etc it works fine. If you have your own media server or IPTV it's not great.

Subtitles formats and styling support is limited, at least from my experience.
