Of all android brands, not a single one has supported longer than Google period. Only recently Samsung changed to 7 years but only with s24 and above. Google answer and also supported 7 years, but even before their device old and new had the longest support.

As other have mentioned, os and update support is one of the longest and best when it comes to android.

Everyone is talking about Pixel's 5 year support being extended to 7. Meanwhile, Apple released an update for the iPhone 5S last week. That phone was released in 2013.

The main reason I moved to Pixels years ago was that the random-release Motorola or Samsung would get a couple of updates and then die on the vine. With Pixels you're going to get years of updates, including a few major OS updates.

That update was just so that they could update expiring certificates to prevent iMessage and FaceTime from breaking. It updates the 5s to iOS 12.5.8.

Pixels all day long. So much cleaner than Samsungs bloatware, and Pixels always have the better cameras IMO

Have had one since my 6a pooped the battery, this one is a nice upgrade, with the wireless charging and better screen. Still too bright at night and the adaptive brightness during the day is a bit rough.

Overall - I would not be mad at paying $350 for this.

I started with a Pixel 3a, then 4a, then 6a, and now 9a.

I downloaded and installed Lineage 23.0 on this phone after the last deal. It's smooth and I don't have to worry about software updates as Lineage and XDA keep these phones up to date on the security side.
