I've got four of these. They work well. Basically, they do the job that a two port power supply does in terms of splitting the power across two ports, with the one major difference being: This isn't a power supply.

So why would you want one of these? Normally, I'd say: You wouldn't. But I have a pretty good use case myself: I often use a MacBook Pro for coding (i.e. programming), and I often use the Apple Vision Pro as a virtual big-screen monitor. So I use a 100w power supply, and one of these Anker cables, and one of the 2 plugs from the Anker cable goes to the notebook, and one goes to the Vision Pro battery pack.

For example, I keep a power supply under the couch with one of these plugged in, and the cable fork that goes to the Macbook Pro has an extension and MagSafe 3 adapter, e.g.

* https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32...19928.html
* https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32...72651.html

That gives me a little extra reach on the power cable for the notebook, and the safety / convenience of the MagSafe connection.

At another location, my (6 foot) cable has to go across a span where people sometimes have to walk through, so I use a high quality magnetic USB C connector on the power supply itself to connect it to the cable: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32...69188.html ... this allows one single cable to be easily removed and reattached if someone needs to squeeze by, and prevents the notebook and Vision Pro from getting accidentally yanked off the table or desk.

So yeah, I love these Anker cables. But you probably don't need one.

This will also help if you don't have enough ports on the power supply for the amount of devices you want to charge?

I use one of these to charge my iPhone 15 and S24 nightly and it works fine. Chargers both as 'super fast'
I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than actual devices though. Some of smaller items like fans, headsets and battery packs won't take a charge from these cables.
if it worked for all devices I'd say it'd be great especially for travel. As it is I find myself having to work around it occasionally. I should have just ran two cables
Piggybacking off of your comment here because I'm one of those people who, like you, gets frustrated with some devices which seem to just "not charge" from any USB-C smart charger (including these cables). I found out the reason for it recently:

USB-C is both the connector and a communication standard. A lot of smaller, cheaper devices use the connector (the manufacturer just swaps it from micro-USB to USB-C) but do not implement the communication standard. When this is the case, any USB-C charger or cable that /is/ USB-C communication compliant will refuse to send power down the line for safety reasons.

A company out there briefly made little dongles you could use to act as the middle man for those cases, to enable safe charging and for you to use the cable with those devices:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPGKm7-0UE0

But it seems perpetually out of stock now, so it is what it is.

But hopefully that solves the mystery and provides a reason why things wouldn't charge for people out there like me who were continually frustrated with the seemingly random support for devices from USB-C chargers.

That's worth knowing. Thanks for that bit of information.
