If you buy this, definitely don't buy more blades from Beard Club. Maggard Razors has packs of 100 half blades for $7.50.

I love old school shaving, but a double edge safety razor is the way to go for me. Don't think I could use one of these straight razors without cutting myself badly. Either way you go, get a good shaving brush and a cake of nice shaving soap. Would never go back to cartridge razors and cans of shaving foam.

Amazon has had 100 packs of Astra SP for ~$10. Snap 'em in half (easy to do) and your cost per shave just went down. Though the relatively smoother/dull 1/2 Derby works really well for this application, as it's a bit more forgiving. The Astras are amazing in DE razors, though. If this stash is going to get mixed use or you're good with a shavette, the Astras might be a better choice.

Had a 10% coupon code on the page bringing it to $5.40. I can use it for evening my cheek angles before bumping up my emergency fund for the neckline.

picked one of these up...good lord was every imaginable expense spared- came in a plastic bag with no blades- edges of it are as machined and sharp. don't normally return something for so little, but disappointed enough to do so.

Customers find the straight razor to be of good quality and appreciate its ease of use, with one noting it's particularly suitable for beginners. However, the blade holder has significant issues, with customers reporting that it won't stay securely in place. Moreover, the functionality and value for money receive mixed reviews, with some saying it works well while others find it useless and overpriced. The sharpness and shaving performance also get mixed feedback - while some find it very sharp and gives a super close shave, others report the blade isn't sharp and doesn't cut well. Additionally, several customers mention that the trimmer broke within two months of use.
