I went to Best Buy in person because the chat agent kept saying no, and when one finally said yes they said they'll only do it for the same zip code as the Sam's Club, which was 6 hours away from me. I went in store to Best Buy and tried the price match and they were willing, but the system would not let them. The sysem kept denying the price match because the price was too low and less than cost. I even called the manager over, they really wanted to do it but the system literally wouldn't let them. Unfortunate.

Even cheap tablets have OLED under $200. Why this didn't come with OLED screen is bizarre and leads me to believe that Nintendo's only goal was to upsell a future OLED version of this. Absolute greed.

I would honestly call ahead and confirm price before running to the stores but it seems like online inventory is unreliable even at Sams club. I took a trip to get mine but they probably had them in stock near me this whole time.

It's actually quite simple: there does not exist an off-the-shelf OLED panel at this size with all the other features (VRR, HDR, etc.), so they had to choose. They elected not to go OLED.

I think $499 Switch 2 for NA is because of the tariff man. It's equal to $399 in Asia and Japan.

I had one in my cart this morning, got busy at work and it was sold out when I came back an hour later. I went to the store right after work and got the last one. A guy came just a couple of minutes after me trying to buy it too but they only found one. Really lucked out with the timing.
A friend is buying in my switch 1 for 150 so 250(taxes inc) for a switch 2 upgrade isn't terrible I guess.
