Yeah I have the Echo Show 10 in my kitchen, the one that rotates and what not. The UI sucks and it really doesn't do much but tell time, weather and offer me a timer. I got in on a trade in deal and wouldn't buy another.

If they'd give these a more tablet like interface and some actual apps they'd be alright. The sound quality is good, but I have a great stereo so I never play music on it.

Just FYI, I looked into the fire OS on the 15/21, its equivalent to android 9 (pie), so those who are considering side loading the Google Play store, u will be very limited on what you can install

Do you see a button with Apply on it? That's how you get the $49.99 price, but you have to own some Echo to get that offer

I concur with the others on the laggy response time, but only on the newer devices. The discount is targeted. It showed up as an *Upgrade* to my 1st Gen Echo Dot. I couldn't believe they brought that up! LOL

Good deal. I however, will never buy anything Amazon anymore. I have two Echo speakers used to control switches and setup timers, and several Echo dots (and multiple TV sticks). Amazon intrusive advertisement is not worth paying for. This hardware should be given for free IF anyone bothers to use it. Eventually, I will get rid of all Amazon devices.

There is no 3.5mm jack line in on the speakers. The first Echo studio had it and at least you can plug it in as computer speakers for video. Only the Echo plus (2nd gen) has line-in

Anyone getting a special price for the Echo Show 8 [amazon.com]?

I tried Alexa+ but had to revert to the original because it slowed down my Echo Show 5 so much it basically made it unusable. It wasn't just slowdown; many other bugs were introduced.

Yeah, but you can connect to your PC with bluetooth that's how I do it.
