I use them to pay:

city property taxes & water bill
electric bill
gas bill
car lease payment
All to establishments that would charge a fee for CC pmt but no fee for debit.

I've used hundreds of the physical cards but never these. I assume the only difference is you can't use these for transactions in person? But they work fine for all online transactions?

Staples limits it to under 1K so while the limit is 5, you can only purchase 4 at a time otherwise it gets denied.

You could, but you'd end up with a loss anyway unless the card you're using will net you higher than the fee
