yeah this is about the lowest the price for an 8 series 65", unless you want to try to find a new 2025 after the 2026 model comes out. Summer or early fall maybe you find this for $750-800, but this is probably the best you get before then.
I have the 2022 65U8 Still going fine, love it. I added a roku player and use that 99.99% of the time..so, i guess that limits ny review somewhat for the tv

I think this is the lowest price so far. Hisense and TCL have announced that they will be the first two companies to include Dolby Vision 2 on their 2026 models. Hisense has said that it will start on their U8 series and up
I've been really impressed by the u8 lineup. I have a 2021 model (u8g). Google tv interface is great. These TVs get ridiculously bought and look great with HDR content

Me too, but my board is starting to fail. HDR and Dolby content causes banding and freezing. Got is November 21 for $699 and added 4 year warranty. Of course it craps out two months after the warranty ended. $30 replacement board on the way - hoping that fixes it. If not, looking at this or TCL QM8K as a replacement.
The price is nice on this U8. When looking hisense, it's advised to never buy a model lower than a "U" and "7" unless you absolutely have to...
Yeah don't go below a 7 series for a primary TV. Only for an extra TV for somewhere else in the house.
7 & 8 series are already cheap enough - going much below that & you're just getting too cheap & sacrificing quality. & yeah going away from the U series to to A series or Q series is not advisable either.

Don't forget to do the necessary adjustments to the TV settings that Rtings recommends. Setting out of the box can be wacky sometimes!
