Petg has negatives as well...
It needs to be dried out to print properly if you're in a damp or humid environment.
It tends to string a little bit more than PLA.
It tends to be more shiny, and some of the Matte PETGs are not as strong.
You have to print it at slower speeds.
PETG is probably superior if none of the issues are a deal breaker for your current printing project.

Great deal, usually Silk PLA goes to $10/KG while this deal is $8.5/KG. Thanks OP
Not true. I've bought Geeetech silk PLA gold and silver for $7 /kg during Black Friday

Look on Amazon how nice it prints

Because people are annoying lol. PETG is king but normies can only print PLA...
Well, I'm a normie - just started the whole 3D printing thing (love it so far). This has all been helpful.

I prefer PETG but i can be harder to work with. your printer (some just don't do a good job with it) and your filament maintenance matter the most.

I use PETG when using it for more durable projects and it is a much stronger, stable, superior plastic. PLA for fun trinkets, and honestly PLA is the best all-round filament
This is all very helpful - thanks

I prefer PETG since it's more durable, the toughest, and most heat resistant for the price and ease of printing. Anything tougher and more heat resistant requires having an enclosure to help maintain temperature while printing. To me, the biggest downside is that PETG is shiny. PLA is more matte. However I'm fine printing trinkets with PLA.

I have one of the Bambu Lab + AMS2 which handles some of those normally tedius steps of drying/heating/etc that might otherwise require additional steps. This all sounds managable and par for the course - thanks
