Darn, my iPhone 5 doesn't take a charge and I can't get the IMEI, maybe I will send it with a power bank attached so it stays on, LOL just saying
Apple has a webpage which shows you where the IMEI is physically printed on iPhones.

I am new to this and not familiar with the trade-ins. I have 5 lines with TMo plan that was transferred from Sprint into Tmo.

Reading up the thread but its quite confusing. Where can I go to check if I have this promotion in my TMo account on their web site? Thank you!
Login to T-mobile.com. Upgrade a line. Add an old phone trade-in and declare as broken. If T-mobile offers you $800, then you have the any trade-in any condition promotion.

Quote from Psu2fan78 :
If you have the offer that states any device in any condition, do a test order (don't submit). When I browsed the options there was one that said any smartphone, I chose the worst condition option and it still said I'd get $800. I would probably only attempt this in store to be safe.
Upgrading online or T-life is the easiest and quickest; if you qualify, the promo is added automatically by the system. An agent just adds another friction point and they might reject you outright for this really good promo. SDers go through T-mobile Costco or Sams because of the extra benefits, including the 90 day no fee return policy.

I declared my trade-ins as completely broken (even though they are not) and still got $800 offer; now there is no reason to reject later on. In my experience with any condition trade-ins, it's better to mail it in; one of mine got lost before and the CSR straight credited the promotional value outright since the trade-in was worthless and "broken".

This offer shows up for the regular pixel 10 for me, but like the OP states for a qualifying plan which I am not on (simple choice), will this still go through?

Yeah, you have to bring the phones with you. I brought 3 old phones that turned on to the IMEI screen. From the past thread if i recall, make sure you present them the imei/phone that you intend to trade in. Don't do a switch up at the end with another phone when you actually mail/trade it in (I highly recommend trading it in at t-mobile store. Takes longer with the waiting in line, but you can be sure they got it and accepted it.) I think if you try a switch up with a different imei/phone, it complicates things. That's not to mention the possibility that the rep enters the wrong imei into her tablet.
What about a phone that has cracked screen. I had to get imei of iPhone using MacBook but I don't think Instoee rep will be able to do that?

If you qualify for the PROMO by checking yourself on the Website or App, then just go to Costco or call their 833 #. Don't even bother explaining to the clueless reps. Just tell them to upgrade your line to the Pixel and give them the IMEI or your trade in. The promo will kick in, and you should receive your Costco gift card.
This is what I did. The reps were so dumb and stupid. I literally walked away from the first one because I was so annoyed that they said I had to change plans.

That most likely won't work then. In the past, cracked screens weren't allowed. This promo seems more lenient. Try to ask on T-Mobile chat or just call.

I have added cracked phones to my trade in and it gave me the full $800 trade in credit.

Of course, double check and make sure it does.

I have another question though: Do I have to active the IMEI anywhere at all? Or can I just keep it in the box (or sell it straight) without activating anywhere?

What's the suggested path of action for IMEIs that are not recognized by the system. I have a Samsung Galaxy A12 that was through one of the old employers (not on T-Mobile network), and neither of the IMEIs are detected. I can add it "manually", but not sure if the rest of the process is the same as the ones that were detected. Thanks!

You can try to call again, but after multiple calls all I got was the run around and misinformation from Costco T-Mobile Sales by phone.

I just ended up using the app and eating the activation fees, as far as the gift cards I'll be curious if people receive them since I was told multiple times that this promo wasn't eligible.

Why are T-Mobile sales channels so incompetent, and their offshore CS a black hole of disinformation?

Pretty sure AI is in they process of firing all of them... TMobile sure seems to hate their human employees as much as their customers.

I planned to turn in my trade at a store instead of mailing, assuming that would be faster and straightforward. Are you saying they don't process the trade at the store?

Make a note that phone even new inbox is Locked to T-Mobile even if you don't activate it. So if you were looking to just sell it as BNIB just know only a T-Mobile SIM will work in it.

Pretty sure he's indicating that since the trade-ins were declared broken that it doesn't matter what condition they receive them in and he has proof they were shipped in.

In store there is a chance that the disgruntled/incompetent employees will mishandle it and you may not receive the proper credit for the promotion.

Both ways are a gamble since T-Mobiles tools and processes are so screwed up.
