This ain't true. They ask the questions, but they don't care. Ordered through Costco T-Mobile. They just need IMEI.

I got the Pixel 10 on any trade. Just did the deal as I had a old phone. I do not want to use. Shall I keep it unopened for 2 years and gift it assuming it will be unlocked? Or do I need to activate to kick the credit?

Ok. Trying to justify going this route. I am with Helium Mobile and their 'unlimited' plan for $30/month. If I am reading this deal correctly I need to sign up with T-mobile to get a locked Pixel 10 Pro XL and be on an the Experience More or Experience Beyond plan at $85-$100 per month, for 24 months, to get $800 credit?

Helium Mobile
$30 x 24 = $720 for unlimited
Unlocked Pixel 10 Pro XL 256GB - $1199 retail
Total $1919

T-Mobile
$85 x 24 = $2040 - $800 credit = $1240
Locked Pixel 10 Pro XL 256GB = Free?

This deal only applies to pixel 10 now. Not sure if when OP posted it was active towards p10p/p10p xl but it currently isn't.

Question for those who have received your Pixels..... Do they come pre-provisioned and automatically activate on the upgraded line when you first turn on?
No, you need to activate it

Haven't received any of mine yet, but the emails I have received instruct me to activate with esim. Problem is I want to activate esim on other lines on my account, instead of the lines I actually did the upgrade on. Don't think it's a problem, but lacking psim it's not a forgone conclusion.

They're not tied to the line/phone number that you did the upgrade on... You can activate them with any number, as long as they're on the T-mobile network.

Sometimes we have to stop and think as "there's no such thing as free"
The more popular opinion is that we're being locked with Tmobile - some are fine with that.
How about other reasons? Google can afford to "give away" free phones if it means it can peek at our data through the use of the phone
Another one? Either Tmobile or maybe a company that eventually acquires our old phones can also mine data. While it's more bang for the buck to trade a broken phone, it just means we won't have a chance to securely wipe our data. They are still intact in the memory chip even if the phone can't turn on anymore.

With that said, sometimes we don't have much choice, but to be careful. Fortunately, I was able to purchase really old broken phones years ago for times like this. It doesn't have my old data. Good luck!

I'm not sure if leaving it uncharged for 2 years is a good idea. The phone should be charged some and the battery should last maybe 6 months but i would think it would slowly discharge to 0 after within 2 years. "Never store a phone with 0% charge"

T-Mobile's website isn't accepting IMEIs on several old phones I have including Amazon Fire Phone and aMotorola V195S. It is accepted on an LG M210 LV3. Anyone think I'd have better luck with the Mototola V195S being valid at Sams Club. It's the one I really want to trade (old flip phone).

really simple

those that have this promotion will get upto $800 off
(forget the penny for below comparison)

if u get:

gp 10 . price is 800 get 800 off (==>free)

gp10pro. price is 1000. get 800 off (==>1000-800=200..==>pay 200 over 24m ..==>200/24=8.33....==>.pay 8.33 per month for 24 m)

The real reason is that Pixel 10 just didn't sell well and Google needs to unload excess inventory. Compared to the Pixel 9, they removed the SIM card slot, downgraded the GPU, and downgraded the camera sensors to fit a telephoto. The bigger issue is that Google kept storage at 128gb while Apple upgraded to 256gb for the same price.

Google's enshittification is our gain. Nothing wrong with this deal if you're staying with T-Mobile for the next 2 years.

Real reason they unloading p10 is bc p10a just got released. It puts p10 in the "forgotten" category. P10a will be there for the light users who don't want to spend flagship price, which was the p10 up to this point. And for ppl who want flagship type of phone and willing to spend you have the pro models.

but yes good deal for good phone for ppl who plan to stay 24 months and have dead phones to recycle

The 10a is barely an upgrade over the 9a, which itself was barely an upgrade over the 8a so I didn't bother with it. The flagship and a-line pairing have been a Google model for many years (my first -a was the 3a). Given the choice between a new Pixel 10 Pro for $200 or a new Pixel 10a for $300 or so after trade and discounts, the 10 Pro should win every time. Same with the non-Pro 10 for no cost after $800 trade and bill credits.
