It will only be activated after 2 years if you manually activate and use the phone.
You might want to also mention to Holocene that T-Mobile now requires the phone to also be used on their Network for 45 days or they won't unlock it, even after the two years. I've had that happen on two backup phones. Sometimes you can get a customer service agent to override it but rarely.

Does anyone know what the return policy is if I ordered this by phone through Costco? I think the sales rep told me there was a longer return policy but I don't remember the specifics.

I just dropped off my trade in devices at the store. I got a receipt that says "CONVERTED DEFFERED TRADE-IN TURN-IN" Is that what it is for everyone? When do you get a text / email saying the trade-in is accepted? Thanks

T-Force is telling me 20 days and that 90 days only applies to kiosk but I think this rep is wrong.

Return policy: To receive a refund or exchange, you must return the device within 90 days of the date of your purchase or lease date of the original device. Costco's dedicated T-Mobile support team is ready to assist with any returns by calling 833-996-2803. All devices received as part of a promotional offer (for example, "Buy One Get One Free," etc.) must be returned and some limited edition and other devices may not be refunded or exchanged.

Just give them your phone number and your driver's license. To make the process idiot-proof, I wrote the phone number of the line that was being upgraded on a post-it and stuck it to the back of each phone.
Did they scan your driver's license barcode into the system or just look at it and confirm it's you?

For people that gotten text messages that their trade-in promo is removed after dropping off the trade-in device at the store, I think that is caused by a mismatch of the make, model, and/or IMEI between the trade-in info generated by the system on your account when you placed the order and the actual trade-in device entered by the store employee into the system when you dropped it off at the store, and there is nothing to worry about as long as the actual trade-in device still qualify for the same trade-in promo and trade-in value.

The system automatically cancels the trade-in promo when there is a mismatch and automatically adds it back after confirming that the actual trade-in device entered by the store employee still qualify for the trade-in promo. You will receive another text message a few hours later that a trade-in promo is added. Also, since this a any condition any device trade-in promo, you will get the full trade-in amount as long as the system accepts your trade-in device.

I experienced the same last year, where I shipped a different trade-in device, the system automatically canceled the trade-in promo and then added it later.

It's 40 days on the network + paid off to get it unlocked.

I ordered multiple phones. Did Tmo assign a specific IMEI to a particular line? Or I can select any imei from the order and assign to a particular line? Where do I type the imei and link with a particular number? Is it under manage sim menu? Thanks a lot for your help
There was no paper receipt in the box that delivered the phone.

But if you click on device financing, and check under installment plans, it will show pre-assigned IMEI to each of the lines that were upgraded.

I activated a phone on a line X that was pre-assigned to line Y. Don't think it matters, but if someone wants to follow everything precisely, this is how u can identify which IMEI goes with which line.

I kinda regret not going for the 10 Pro XL with 256 GB over the 10 Pro with 128 GB for just $200 more. Why, oh why, does T-Mobile only have the 10 Pro in 128 GB? I suspect this was 100% a customer retention deal, and the 128 GB made for a good, economical retention deal on T-Mobile's side.

Folks, think carefully about which version to get. Yes, I'm okay with 128 GB right now, but I fear it may become quite limiting over 1, 2, or 3+ years.

It's actually from TMO site...... " Postpaid: Active on network for 40+ days, fully paid off, and not associated with a canceled/delinquent account."

40 days exact won't cut it, All CS rep always says 45 so the system won't reject the request or send in the request for an override.
