What many believe to be the best value espresso machine on the market that will last you many years without breaking and gives you superior quality coffee.

Before I get blasted in the comments ... yes a high quality grinder is more important than the espresso machine itself.

You sure about that? According to the price tracking site that shall not be named, 399 is the lowest it's ever hit. The base Bambino goes on sale for $250 occasionally, but I've never seen the Bambino Plus dip that low.

This seems to be about as good as it gets for thus machines price... I just cant decide between this and a gaggia classic pro or whatever its called now.
The Gaggia has a lot more potential if you want to spend time and money tinkering with and modding it. The Bambino will make better and more consistent drinks straight out of the box (after dialing in of course). Both are great options, just depends on how much work you wanna do to get a good shot.

Looks nicer than the Kitchen-aid Semi Automatic that I got for $85 a month or two ago on here... but is it worth $315+ more? No.

GCP is better if you want to tweak it and mod it, and will be easier to repair yourself (but is likely to be longer lasting than the BBP anyway). If you get the GCP you can alleviate the long heat up time by adding a smart plug to turn it on in the morning before you actually need a cup of coffee.

Just bought a refurbished one directly from Amazon few weeks ago at $375
Initiated a return just now and was offered $75 partial refund in case anyone is in the same boat as me

The DF54 is a great grinder, I paired mine with the SHARDOR Professional 64mm Burr Coffee Grinder to save some coin. Works great

Does the non-plus version go on sale ever? My GF wants the Breville Bambino but not the plus.

Haven't seen it on sale in the last few months.
It's thete a reason why she doesn't want the plus? The streamer is really with it

In addition to others' points about the Gaggia's moddability and the Breville's quick warm up, I'd like to add that the Bambino Plus has a very convenient auto steaming feature and the Gaggia... looks how it looks. 📦

I would also suggest checking out your local HomeGoods store. Found one of these there for $350, but decided on the Bambino for $240.

this machine is a beast, picked up one on sale in 2020 it gets used 2-3 times daily. It lets you know when it's time to descale, clean, etc. I don't skip maintenance and it's still going strong.

paired with baratza encore burr grinder which is also a workhorse

I think simply because her friend has the non-plus and she had a great experience with that. We also have a very limited space on our coffee bar, so the extra 1" width is less ideal.

Maybe I can try to sway her into this one though.

I'm not sure if the current GCPs still have the issue but about a year or two ago, the new boilers Gaggia started using had this teflon coating on the inside that would flake off. Look up "boilergate" for more info.
I had this issue after about a month of having the machine so I returned it to Wholelattelove and used it as an excuse to upgrade.
