I recently purchased and returned this pillow. It feels more like Styrofoam than memory foam. It does give a little, but it is extremely hard and way to high if you sleep on your back.

How hard is it? Chinese has been slept on hard wood/bamboo pillow for over 3000 years.

Really? How do you like an extra-firm mattress? I tried many on the market think they are not firm enough for me, so I ended up building a bed with plywood and placing a 2-inch topper on it.

Why bother with the topper? 2" just means you're resting right on the wood. Might as well just sleep on the floor at that point.
