Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

For those of you having the fraud screen, do this -

Use a VPN
Different credit card #
Add a fake apartment # to your address (if you live in a house)

This has worked for me in the past.

I was able to successfully order this deal and got an order confirmation. However, when I try to login to my account I enter my phone number and then try to enter my PIN# but it doesn't let it go through.
Anyone able to access their account after ordering this?
You have to wait until your phone arrives. Then activate service. Use your number + pin + SMS verification code to access your account.

My comment was specifically addressed towards the $180 apple store gc. Reselling it in private markets is another matter. I hope you resell it for as much as possible.
All of my comments shared with you have been specifically regarding the $180 Apple Store gift card. I received my first iPhone 13 today and have also ordered a second one. Since I won't have time to trade them in at the Apple Store until this weekend(I prefer not to trade in by mail), I'm curious how much the value might drop after the iPhone 17e is released, as you mentioned. I'll leave another comment for you after Thursday. Let's wait and see!

BEWARE: I just tried to get this deal. I filled out all of the information online, even my credit card info and port out info. I have never used Metro before. When I got to the end to complete the sale, I got the message that I had to call in. I called in and after a back and forth with the Metro rep AND straight talk to release the number, I gave my credit card information over the phone, the rep (Luis) all of a sudden started mentioning that he's worried my credit card wont go through because i have a "#" in my address. I thought that was odd that he was already identifying a problem before even trying the transaction. Sure enough, he puts me on multiple holds to try the transactions and after about 3 "tries", he finally comes on and says his manager identified a "glitch" with the promo and that it's currently not available and thats why my transaction couldnt go through. He offered solutions like I could buy another iphone (16 - for more $) or an android. Luis then transferred me to a supervisor who was incredibly rude. Supervisor (Chero?) tells me there is no port out request and that they cannot help me with purchasing the phone because it is only an online deal. I told Chero I started online, but online directed me to call to complete the transaction. Chero said theres nothing they can do. I should have believed all the online warnings about Metro by Tmobile being a shady company. So somewhere out there "Luis" has all my credit card information. smh.
While Metro is well known for their bait and switch tactics assuming you called a real Metro number I wouldn't be overly concerned with someone having your credit card information. It would be easy to monitor as far as fraudulent transactions and T Mobile is the largest Telecom company in the world by market cap so it's not like you are dealing with a grey market site or something. Next time consider using a virtual credit card number, that way you can cancel anytime if needed. Also I would recommend speaking with a different rep as you can get wildly varying results depending on who you speak with.

This may be a dumb question but since I have no experience with this. When you guys say "put it in a drawer" and it should unlock 1 year later. You mean after the successful initial activation/making sure phone works. You mean I can literally turn off the phone for 365 days, open it back up on day #366 and it should be ideally unlocked right? Or do I have to like routinely keep it on /surf the web (using WiFi cause I obviously am not planning to buy any plans beyond the mandatory initial one ) with It?

I have said this sooo many times initiate your trade in online today it's like 4 silly questions. Those questions don't ask any identifying info you need the phone for. Once you initiate your trade in you lock in your trade in value and you have 14 days To send it in or take it to the store. Trade in value will likely go down not because of the release of the 17e but because of this deal as has always gone down after a deal like this. This phone is extremely marketable its the last, US, iphone with a physical sim.

Thank you for your tips. I also expect that the Apple Trade-In value for the iPhone 13 will drop because of this deal. I participated in the Metro iPhone 13 deal last year as well and traded it in for an Apple Gift Card. However, that guy said that once the iPhone 17e is released, this iPhone 13 deal will have no potential for flipping for profit, regardless of the current Metro deal. I didn't think the value would drop to that extent, which is why I kept leaving comments.

I've definitely hit a glitch. =(

I ordered a phone last week using an old Google Voice number for the port in and the phone came this morning, but for some reason the phone itself didn't activate with an eSim when I turned it on. I scanned the QR code for the eSim on the metro web site and that worked, but I still didn't have a phone number. I did the activation online using the order number for the phone and _that_ said it was successful, but still nothing. That's when I think I really messed up in that I reset the phone, but removed the eSim when I did it. When it came back up it still didn't download an eSim, but worse, now if I try and scan the QR code it says that the eSim code has expired and can't be added!

The problem with all of this is that to get any service online or over the phone they have to send an SMS to your phone number, and even though Google Voice still has my number (so maybe the real issue is a porting problem?), no SMS messages go through! =(

Apparently my only hope is to go to a physical store and show them my ID so that they can get into my account. Which I really am not looking forward to. =(

I only set up text and calls to gv.
It's very possible both methods work. But yesterday, my method definitely worked: setting the GV pin and using the GV pin as the port out pin.

I have gotten over 30 Metro phones. You can use them as WiFi devices or music players but they will still unlock if you activate them and just stick them in a drawer.

I ordered through LycaMobile yesterday. It went smoothly and Metro took a few minutes to process the account and pin though. I have not received the phone so I cannot provide any evidence on whether it will activate successfully.

Are you able to do this through LycaMobile if you do not have a phone to activate it on?

Can I buy the $5 phone number and immediately go on the Metro website and port it over wit no issues?

Sorry for the questions. I am new and this would be the first time doing something like this.

THanks in advance

You still need to activate lyca number on a phone. Lycamobil will send you sms confirmation codes when you try to log in to your lyca account and get the port out account number and pin.

Is your ultimate goal to obtain 4x/5x gift cards and buy the 17 pro max? Or just $100 profit for apple GC if you do this once?
