Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

For those of you having the fraud screen, do this -

Use a VPN
Different credit card #
Add a fake apartment # to your address (if you live in a house)

This has worked for me in the past.

Just curious. Why do we need to lie about the porting # is from a landline?

Yes, i also ported from GV. I had to call the port(1-800-518-7529) dept but a 5 minute phone call and they fixed it. Make sure you mention the porting # is from a "landline"

I activated my phone, able to text and call. Now I am trying to login my Metro account, enter my phone number. But got an error message:

"Sorry, but we were unable to save your changes. Please try again."

It has been 2 hours after I activated my phone, still can't login.
Any idea why?
I got the same issue. I called Metro, and they were able to activate my new phone, with no problems. I ported in a GV number, but they didn't ask me any questions about the number I'm porting in. It took about 10 mins and was painless. I called 1-888-8 METRO 8

After that, I can log into the account on a web browser.

It's not a lie. GV numbers are not wireless numbers.

it's not a lie. gvoice is considered a voip/landline, so there are technical differences in how they process the port

After getting the dreaded "call us..." message trying to make a third order (on 13, or Samsung watch when it was in stock) for more than a dozen times, I finally decided to call that number - it lasted a bit over a half an hour!
I'm not 100% certain if the order went though. I got an order number from the agent when she finished, but it's not recognized in their system. I haven't received an email notification either.
However, when I logged into my account via the mobile app, there was a place-holder line with the number I just ported in and the add-a-line option was no longer available either.
If the third order succeeds, I'll try a fourth one. According to the iPhone 13 promo terms and conditions, you can get deals up to 4 lines (the fourth line would be $10 only - if it works). But I really hope the Samsung will be in stock again.

Ugh. First line went through without a hitch. Activated last night no problem. Tried to add a second line today and got that stupid "call us" message. Chat agent couldn't help. Called in and they couldn't help. They claim they're getting a "port limit request reached" error. Google support says they see the request to port out, "just wait 48 hours". Not sure how that's going to work when the damn Metro order won't go through.

You need to call metro ask to speak to the porting dept and ask them to complete your port. Regular CS cant do this for you only the metro port dept.
I'm stuck in a do-loop though. Order won't go through, and sales can't initiate the port. Porting dept says they can only help with a port after the order goes through. Ugh.

Sadly, got the security message on mine too. Port was through Google Voice, and I have ordered a few handsets from them over the years, so perhaps they know me too well. Tried twice, gonna not bother calling, but it looks like they didn't grab the number since the port wasn't automatic.
They placed a hold, both transactions were refunded.

Got the iphone 13 using GV number, activated it online. Said it activated. 2 days later the number seems as if it still hasn't ported as it can't receive incoming calls (goes to GV message). Called Metro on 800 number and they had me do a OTP last night, that worked and they said port was complete. Today same thing, still doesn't seem like the port went through as I still can't take incoming calls. Also haven't gotten the Gmail confirmation of port out message. Anyone else had this happen?

Do Metro phones need to have 12 months of continuous paid service to unlock? Their policy only states that the device will unlock "Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date", but say nothing about the device having to be active on their plan for the entire duration of the year. Also, could I just activate it on metro and pay that first month, and then take it over to Mint (same parent company/network, T-Mobile)?
