Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

For those of you having the fraud screen, do this -

Use a VPN
Different credit card #
Add a fake apartment # to your address (if you live in a house)

This has worked for me in the past.

Yes, the process works the same, but some phones require the higher plan. How many can you buy...? Big mystery with Metro, in prior years I think there was someone who managed 5 in one (unicorn) account, but for most between 1-4 was max a year ago. Usually 2 limit per phone. These days it seems you're lucky if you get 2 done and maybe an additional watch or tablet is already jackpot.
Thanks for the response.
Tried to place an order for 16e, no luck. Ended up with "Please contact us to complete your order". Tried a new customer route using my spouse's information, also no luck.

I also tried to move the number to another phone. They would not let me due to incompatible phone plan. In order to do so, I need to change the phone plan which I am not sure if I want to do it. I just need to still have an access to my account for the rest of the month just in case. I am going to trade the phone in.

Most frustrating "deal" ever! tried multiple times on their website and with multiple reps and it wont work. Can see that they are trying to charge my CC on the CC companies website, but wont go through on their end for whatever reason, reps are clueless to what the issue is. Don't try this unless you want to waste your time.

btw u can delete saved card ONLY after disabling auto renewal (same page different rows). need to see if they can still charge after this.
Thanks. I'll be using a virtual card number then deactivate after the charge so they can't recharge regardless

Same issue - been trying to order the Galaxy Tab A9+ but no luck. Also can't move the iPhone 13 line to my other phones.

Not really, you just hit the "back end' of the deal where it seems Metro put in a fix to the exploit people have been using. The first half of the thread you'll see almost everyone was successful in 1 or more lines using GV numbers. Just bad timing. And with regards to clueless customer service that's pretty much on par with Metro since they've been around. Those who entered the deal at the early stages wanted nothing to do with actually dealing with Metro staff, so getting it done with online orders only was the real steal. I wish I put in the request for my third device earlier, I think if I did it one or two days earlier than when I tried I might have been successful but sometimes that's just how deals go.

No, not everyone at the beginning of the deal was successful. I tried on the first day and it didn't go through. No one knows why it works for some and not others and making up speculation doesn't in any way help anyone.

Do you mean you're trying to transfer the phone service/number that came on the iphone to a different phone that you already have? I was wanting to do that in order to trade in the iPhone and still have use of the number for any other deals. Can you give details on what's going wrong?

Never said everybody was able to get the deal but I'll grant you I could change my wording from "almost everyone" to "a lot of people" were able to capitalize on the deal. You don't get up to almost +300 on a deal and almost 100 pages in the thread if the deal isn't working for a large number of users. And there's definitely been some change in the system as reports by individuals using GV numbers to port has gone from a large number of folks reporting able to use it to basically no one at all within just the last few days.

Have you had a zombie line that quit working due to its bucket being empty? I no longer can check the balances of my zombie line, so have no ideas how much is left.
Yes, I have a 1 year plan with 1GB expired in Dec 2025, and fail to port to metro. After expired I drain all data and it did stop right after 1GB, call n txt still continues to work.

I first tried 2 weeks ago when the deal was first posted, and have tried 3-4 times over the last two weeks and gotten nothing but headaches hoping it would work. Great deal for whomever got this to go through. I guess I should've given up after the first attempt and not wasted more time.

I got 3 lyca numbers too. Purchsed an iPhone 13 on 2/15 and needed to call in to complete the order. After the iPhone 13 arrived and activated, I purchased an iPhone 16e with no issues, not even needed to call. When I tried to purchase another iPhone 16e last Thursday I was stuck at "Your security is important to us" screen. Called in, no luck. Recreated an online order and called in again, no luck. I tried to order again earlier tonight with the same story. The rep told me to go to a store for help. Did anybody have success doing it in a store?

I went to a local store yesterday after order failure due to that "security" msg, and when I mentioned adding a second line with free iphone 13, the store girl gave me a weird stare and promptly stated that the deal would cost about $200 in store, as they charge for everything including porting, and she doesn't know why it's that way in that store. wtf. She couldn't even give me a breakdown of the cost unless I was ready to shell out all that cash. I said thank you and marched out.

I might probably just go to Spectrum, cancel account and have a family member signup with 2 iphones of choices.

Your in-store experience is typical. Sales people in Metro stores will try to "scalp" you with higher price, activation fee, "mandatory" phone insurance, case, unclear taxes and fees, etc. It's like dealing with a bunch of hungry, sleazy car sales people.

I'm not sure why a lot of people here think that GV doesn't work anymore. When I tried to place an order using GV, it passed the step where Metro pulled the number from carrier (in my case was GV). It just right after submitting the order, it failed. And credit card shows that card has been charged and refunded right away.

They will also charge full tax on the devices suggested retail price. Once they all became independent I stopped going. Corporate stores weren't bad because they were regulated. Third party stores are straight robbery.

Had to call after getting the security error. Took about 20 minutes used a lyca number. Capital One Shopping gives $10 back on lyca at least for me so hopefully that works out to be a moneymaker.
