Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

Since google voice and visible won't work anymore, what's the cheapest way to port in for metro nowadays?

EDIT: after reading the comments on this thread, I see that many people are reporting that a google voice number can be ported over to metro again (like the good old days).

I tried to transfer eSIM, landed into error. Contacted Metro over chat and they did some refresh on my account and in the next try it went through smoothly.
Just let you know. It's working. Thank you.

$5. It's fast, real fast to port-in, today. Yes, they're considered "landline" number, GV too. Even you port-in a Cell# to them, it becomes "landline" #.

I just spent a very long time on the phone with a metro tech, and they couldn't make it happen. I did try online first, and at first it said I had to change plan if I wanted to move the esim to another device. I backed out, logged in again, and from then on it never told me I needed to change plans, but when I got to the final step, after approving the imei and the eid, it said it was having tech difficulties.

I called Metro, and the tech asked a bunch of questions, and I did end up telling her the phone I'm moving it to already has a physical sim, I want to use the esim slot. And she was like, you can't do that. You can't have two lines on one phone. She puts me on hold to ask a supervisor, but I'm pretty sure she didn't explain it well, based on what she said when she came back. I finally convinced her yes, this pixel 10a I have can have two seperate lines, I want to use the esim for the number currently on teh iphone. And she's all "what will you do with the iphone." I have no idea why she was asking that kind of thing, so I said I'm giving it to my sister.

Anyway, we tried and tried and could not get it to work. I tried 3 different web browsers and an incognito browser. farking nothing. I guess I need to go into a store and ask them to move this to a physical sim, and I can move it to an old, unlocked metro phone I have. The lady was even messed up about that, when she told me to go to a store and I asked if could do that, she was really hung up on well, if it's unlocked it's not really metro phone anymore, so it might not work. What? wtf? I'll have to ask separately so people can see, but I need to figure out if this will be a big problem to move this plan to an unlocked metro phone so I can trade the damn iphone in. And what it might cost to do this, buying a physical sim, etc.
Try this if you have more than one device on your account. Login using the number that's NOT tied to the device you want to switch and then do the switch. I was trying to switch again a couple of days but couldn't go thorough after numerous attempts. The trick worked for me on one try!

I don't have another device on the account, sadly. I'm still trying to figure out whether to try going to a store and having them help put it on a physical sim, but I don't have a lot of faith that the clueless rep I talked to was correct when she said I would not be charged a transfer fee in a store because it wasn't working online. Thanks for the tip though.

why don't you try Chat? It works for me, pixel 6a with existing Psim RP. It takes waiting time for your turn, chatting time (the rep chat with couple customer at a time,...) Basically they ask you provide the information as you need to log-in, your new device IMEI, then refresh your browser, then an esim QR show up....Good luck.

Hmm, I did all that with the lady on the phone, we even tried multiple browsers. But maybe she missed something she should've done, she was utterly clueless. She didn't think it wasn't possible to have two sims on one phone, and I was worried she would effe things up in some way that messed up my physical sim. When I input the imei 2 for my phone, the one that's for the esim, the site actually showed esim 1 and esim 2 on the last page before you get a qr code. And she made it sound like the physical sim could get messed up by trying to add the esim. But it errored out before I got a code. I may try chat tomorrow.

Is it that big a deal if I just lose access to the number now, though? Just trade it in and can't access the account anymore? It's not set to autopay, are there other things I need to consider?

I will be very unhappy if a great deal comes up for existing customers before the 30 days is up, though, but right now nothing grabs me, anyway.

Haha .. I'm old and slow, hearing issue. I prefer Chat even my typing's terrible, and most of the CS now-a-day are offshore outsourcing rep, with accent, I have it too: communication is not great, clear and understanding. My Chat rep's name has around 20 alphabets, mine has only 3. haha.

For those of you that got the phone online, did you have to pay any sales tax for the original price of the phone or was the total just $55 and you had your phone in a few days?

Discounted price of i13 is $0 so no sales tax, at least when shipped to KS. Don't know about some other states like CA, CO.

Wait weren't you the one trolling this post …tread crapping…talking smack? Swearing that we would all loose money because the apple trade in value would drop (it increased by the way). Also the person that stated this phone would be obsolete soon when the world runs out of physical SIMS (it has on physical sim and 2 esims). So after all that trash talk and thread crapping now you're back trying to get in on the deal. My how things change. To answer your question read through the comments its in there and behave yourself this time because you were so wrong and your outbursts are well a waste of the bits and bytes you used to post them.

I have a question. I know the ideal way is to trade in the iPhone 13 at the Apple Store before my second month plan starts. I'm only doing this cause I wanna trade it on for the Apple gift cards, but would there be any issue with Apple Store accepting the phone as a trade in if I don't pay the second month $50 month bill, and just let that line "die"?

Yes, I literally picked a new number in 1 minutes. The port-out info was available right after paying $5.

If you trade in your i13 while it still has service with Metro, the issue that affects YOU is that you can't receive the security code texted to that phone to log in. The issue that could affect SOMEONE ELSE is that the person who buys it from Apple tries to use it with Metro before your 1st month ends. The chance of that is unlikely, and if it happens do you care?

You tried tranfering from one device to another through the site or app? I will be swapping devices on my account and worried I'll run into issues with it being esim.

Metro is notorious for charging people when they do phone transfers.
